I'm not into the old-english or the typical shaded color style, but if you like it, that's what's important.

You could giggle at the check mark of ink next to my nipple from when he poked it.

Well, if you want to get into the semantics of it, the Hallstatt Celts definitely weren't Irish or Scottish since they were a separate conglomeration of tribes, however, the Celtic language is based extensively on old Irish and Pict which indeed WERE the inhabitants of modern day Ireland and Scotland. The problem is that from a historical standpoint, almost all the peoples of Central Europe and much of the Iberian peninsula as well as the British and Irish Isles were, at one point, Celtic. They used the same language, belonged to the same confederations of tribes, and traded with each other extensively. This was around 400-300BC mind you. Now, if you look at where the modern day Celtic languages are spoken, you notice that the areas are Brittany in France, The Isle of Mann, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall. All of these regions exist outside the maximum extent of the Roman empire. The reason for this is that the Roman military, in it's continual attempt to conquer the known world, pushed the Celts off of their ancestral lands which, in turn, caused the Celts to push into the territories of the ancient Scots, Picts, Nemedians, Fomorians, Fir Bolgs, Tuatha Dé Danann and the Milesians who, in their own right, partook of continental Celtic culture. Today, these six "Celtic Nations" are considered to be the last bastions of Celtic culture as the Hallstatt Celts were either exterminated or Romanized well before the common era. Thus, while the ancient continental Celts did not have their ancestral homelands in the isles, their descendants eventually came to inhabit the isles and combined their culture with those that were already there.

So, as it comes to this, yes, it is technically a Celtic cross. Albeit the fact of the matter is my family was of Pictish descent and thus it would truly be a Pictish cross, the general term for a cross adorned with Celtic patterns and a ring which represents the sun-god of the Celts/Gaels affixed to the crosspieces is a 'Celtic Cross'.

That said, my cross is my family's and may be found on the graves of the Pictish Kings of Abernethy on the Isle of Iona.

It's not bad at all. I'm still trying to find the right design for mine. I'm close though.
