Since the government is putting up another 650,000,000 for digital tuners. I got to wondering. How many of us actually need one? Sure I have some old tv's that could use them in the garage or workshop.
But, I'm curious to know how many on this board are still using a standard def tv with an antenna.
If you are using an antenna (as opposed to cable or sat.) put it in the comments area.
And use your main tv's not all your tv's. Just the main 2 that you watch.

I don't need and don't want. I haven't had any TV (cable or broadcast) for years. It's nice not having that crap piped in and I get more stuff done now that I can break suction from the couch.

We bought a 32" after we moved into the apartment- I'm glad we didn't buy anything bigger, this one barely fits in my wall unit as it is. Stupid me didn't measure the available space before I bought a TV.

Dynex 32" 720p flat-panel.
Great picture, even though I'm using an antenna. The digital channels are pretty nice, but I mainly just use it for my 360.

I have a 27" and a 19" tube standard def tv. I don't pay for cable but can't get anything over antenna, living in a river valley kind of sucks for reception. It's OK though, I have Hulu.
After I graduate/get a better job my second major purchase will be the building of a custom media center running myth tv to allow me to stream netflix, hulu or anything I download to the tv. Eventually getting an HDTV in about two years. That is of course unless I get into a decent law school and can no longer afford such things.

People who can afford internet are generally able to afford cable or satellite TV service.
You're not going to get an accurate picture of society with this.

Still talking about TV size right?
The TV at home is a 55" widescreen I think and the resolution is something weird, I don't remember what exactly but it's not one of the standard HD ones. My dad wanted to get a new LCD TV but we just don't have the money right now. The HD channels do look nice on the old set though, they're a bit clearer. I think it's probably a waste of time and money to be worrying about switching our TV signals as a nation with all of our other problems right now but whatever. As long as my TV experience is improved before the economy completely collapses, everything will be just dandy.

Two 32" LCD 1080's, one 52cm standard TV running sattelite, a 17" running streaming over the 'net, a 9" doing the same :)
That is all.
Exept one of my 32" 's is plugged into my PC, the other into my PS3. So we watch TV on the 52cm :)

When a poll allows more than one vote, you can get crazy on the mouse button and drive the number up 500 at a time.

Yeah, I know there are technical reasons for it too, I was just messing around. But still, I don't think that should have been given the priority it was, it's such a minor thing compared to other issues we're having right now.

I've got standard cable through an older Phillips TV. Though my family has a 60something inch Vizio plasma HD television.
Dont see the need to have HD anymore since our comcast HD service has NEVER worked properly. Two goddamn years in a row I've had the HD go out on me right after kick off on the Superbowl. I feel like stabbing somebody in the eye with an icepick.
