Tippmann's Pistol the TPX arrives in stores in April. As Revealed from the Paintball Extravaganza. I have to say it's even more awesome than the prototype version. MILSIM enthusiasts will be glad that the extra time taken to perfect the product was well worth the wait.
Thanks to my fellow Marine and Friend Sideshow from Team IYAOYAS, Dirty South Paintball Team ( ;) ) for the pics.

As you can see from that first picture. They incorporated the remote support. That bump out the left side has a plug that can be removed and a remote nipple put in so you can holster your gun while the remotes connected.
magazines are standard 1911 .45acp size so standard mag pouches will work. The prize has not been finalized but it's cheaper than an arm or your first born child.
magazine release isnt lefty friendly, but then again who is friendly to leftys in the first place.
you can also see the windows that will keep junk out your magazine in the ammo view holes.

Estimated price of the mags?
How much will they hold and how many shots can you get off a 12 gram?
What kind of plastic does it contain? It looks kind of shoddy.
The barrel had better be aluminum. That's not a question, that's a command.

the barrel is a-5 threaded but like uber skinny. Its made out of Super Chromium in the cool guy & mods version and made out of aluminum in the regular joe version.
The gun from guys that have held it says that it feels SOLID. It's well balanced and it feels right in your hands. The Magazine pricing hasn't been announced yet but I hear cheaper than Tib 8.
Word has it that it shoots about 22 per 12gram.

Considering they're about the size of 1911 mags, I'd bet they're 6 rounds.

It would be awesome if they could've fit more like 12 in by using an overlaying system where they aren't directly stacked on top of each other but sit more like rounds in a real magazine to optimize space. Si?

Agreed. Its actually too bad they didnt just make the drip a little longer. Maybe they will come out with extended mags. The reason I asked is because some of the scenarios we attend can get long and I will want to be able to reload the mags when i can. I will probably end up cutting down some 10 round tubes to hold only 8. That way I can just dump those right in and not have to worry about wasting 2 balls (moneys tight lol)

If Tippmann doesn't, I'll bet someone comes up with at least a 10 round if not 12round mag for these relatively shortly. Depends on how accurate the claim is that they get 12 shots per 12 g.

and everyone will have one eventually . . .

Based on the length and shape of the mag in that pic, I'd say it already has a staggered box mag to fit 8. Looks like a regulator on the back too!
What a collection of surprises this baby has turned out to be, I'm very impressed and can't wait to get my hands on them and shoot some folks!!!

Okay, so here's my conundrum: Do I grab one on release, or wait a bit for reviews and final ironing of kinks? To be honest, it'll be hard pressed to compete with my G1. Pursuit Pods >10 rd. tubes > mags. However, mags are pretty fast. Problem is, they're bulky.

If it makes you feel any better, I still plan on buying a second one. Can't go single-pistol. The real debate is what kind of holsters to get. Old West style? Shoulder holsters? Back holsters? High waist? So many choices, so many looks to go for...

High on the list. You get the badassery of the old West without the inconvenience.
Of course, the best solution would be to buy about a dozen pistols and just go full retard on the outfit. Shoot out two pistols, drop them and reach for two more.
Losing half a dozen pistols every game could get expensive, though.

rainman, look retarded act retarded but really not retarded.
p.s. this also reminds me of this... FBI detective: "They exited out the front door. They had no idea what they were in for. Now they're staring at six men with guns drawn. It was a freaking ambush" Detective Greenly:"What if it was just one guy with six guns?" FBI detective: "Why don't you let me do the thinking, huh, genius?" then later.... FBI detective: "So you're telling me it was one guy with six guns, and he was a senior frigging citizen?"

I have a feeling that it isn't going to be cheap
TippmannParts.com wrote:
...Players assume that a pistol should cost less than a full size paintball gun. Unfortunately this is not the case. Paintball pistols require more technology (paint magazines and 12 gram adapters), They are also made in much smaller quantities than regular paintball guns. This means that if you want the same quality as a regular paintball gun, the price is much higher. With the general expectation that a "back-up" gun should cost less, most paintball pistols have been low quality. |

I got to field test it today and its a great gun. My SP-8's board fried on the field and they just got the tpx for field testing the day before and let me use it. Its easy to hold, light, and dead accurate. Easily get 3 mags through before you have to change the 12gram but that is even easy to change considering its a 1/4 screw to pop it open. Very solid and well made gun. After I played a couple hours with it as my main, i went back to the pro-shop and pre-ordered it with a hammerhead barrel. Looking forward to actually owning one of these things. Great buy if you want to main or just have a very nice side arm.
