So, I keep hearing that AIG was bailed out without strings attached, because they hold the congressmens retirement accounts...

Is that true?

P1:  AIG was bailed out with no strings attached - True

P2:  Some Congressmen have whole life policies and other investment assets with AIG - Probably true

C:  P2-->P1 - no foundation.

Your deleted post declared that the retirement accounts of ALL Congressmen were "held" by AIG.

Even if this were true, P1 would still not follow.

But, of course, it isn't true.  In fact, it doesn't even make any sense.  There is no special retirement fund for Congress.  They are on the same plans as all other Federal employees.

Besides, many members of Congress are independently wealthy, and almost all have non-retirement financial assets.

As long as we're discussing the economic failout, who actually thinks we'll ever see any of the money given to the automakers ever again?

Just pull up the carpet, they'll be using it as jute for all it will be worth.

I laughed at almost every post in this thread. Is this a "You Laugh You Lose" thread in disguise?!
