    C98 Maverick 05' Superstock All worked good today until when I was chronoing the s.s. when I turned out the allen screw in the bottom of the reg and air just leaked out, I didn't turn it that far. The Maverick I couldn't figure how to turn up the FPS. was running bout 150-170 fps The good ol' Tippmann ran smooth as ever. got a new tank 48/3000 and an extreme rage overdrive dB hopper |

Regarding the Maverick: If it has an adjustable bolt, you adjust it by turning the bolt insert to put more pressure on the spring. They make special tools for this that have plastic tips and allow you to adjust it with the bolt in the marker and the barrel in place, but in a worst case scenario you can remove the bolt to adjust it. (It is more time consuming to do it this way.) There were two general types of aftermarket bolts made for the Nelson-based pumps; one required a flat-head screw driver for adjustment and the other used an Allen Wrench. If you have an adjustable bolt that requires the screw-driver you can buy a long screwdriver fairly inexpensively, wrap it in tape (to prevent scratching the barrel interior) and have a velocity adjustment tool. If you have the more rare bolt that is adjusted with an Allen Wrench, you will have to find a one long enough to reach through the body with the barrel off. (An A5 wrench might work, but that's just a guess.) If you don't have an adjustable bolt, then you will have to try heavier springs. Most Nelson-based pumps use springs that are the same diameter as stock Spyder springs so you could try one of those. (It will require cutting down.) -------------

"internal velocity governor" the brass/nickel disc in the lower tube with an allen key hole in it, you have to take the cocking rod out to adjust it, turn it in at quarter turn increments until you reach the desired FPS. ------------- Xbl:PhantomReign97

the BM reg is very sensitive... you backed it out enough to where thre oring on the screw came out of the seal caught the threads and is now damaged. take the screw all the way out (youre gonna have to take the clip out) and check out the oring. reinsert and screw it all the way in (off) and start over on the chronoing.

With an adjuster tool (really long allen wrench-possibly plastic wrapped to protect barrel interior) the answer is yes. Without this tool, you may be able to find an allen wrench sufficiently long to adjust it in the marker with the barrel off. Otherwise, velocity adjustment is going to be a pain. As far as verifying, while you should be able to tell by looking down the barrel, it would probably best to disassemble the marker and pull the bolt in order to get a good look at it and verify condition of internals. -------------
