I don't have any original pics because I have not been home yet, but my mom picked it up from an estate sale yesterday.
It's a 1929 Underwood Portable.
Perfect working condition, clean, and has spare ribbons.

This puts my typewriter count up to a disturbingly unnecessary amount.

What exactly constitutes a "distubringly unnecessary amount"? Can you really use the word disturbing when describing type writers?

Now you just need an overcoat, fedora, 3 piece wool suit, and a piece of paper with the word "Press" tucked into your hat band and you'll be all set!

Used to have an old typewriter similiar to that. Came from my grandfather, but I could never get the thing to work worth a crap. Think it eventually got sold at a garage sale for a couple of bucks. Very nice though.

I wish I knew where our old typewriter was. We had two, one that was manpowered like that, and an electric IBM. Such a satisfying sound.

You should take that thing into a Starbucks and do stories on it. You'd be so Indie, you wouldn't even know who you are anymore.

Not starbucks, a local roastery/ coffee shop. | Good call.
Also, bring a copy of On the Road by Kerouac and make it noticeable. Bonus points if you smoke American Spirits.

| He really was. I like his stuff though. Just finished Big Sur. I know you like Thompson though. You could just as easily substitute The Rum Diary for On the Road.

I know a guy who loves them. For some reason, he will let them get a bit stale before smoking them. He told me why one time but from what I remember it was a pretty bad reason.
And rolling your own cigarettes is retarded, especially if you carry around the bag of tobacco with you and roll them on the spot. Why not jsut spend like an hour and roll all the cigarettes you need for the next couple weeks?

I've found that people who roll their own cigarettes are for more concerned with making sure everyone smoking around them knows they rolled their own cigarette and how cool that is, than the actual taste/price advantages.

^^^ I agree, but it is funny how things change. When I was a kid, rolling was standard and boxed cigarettes were pretentious.
Go figure.

^^^ Yeah, I remember when I used to spend time over at my grandmothers house when I was a kid, my two uncles would always spend a lot of time with the door closed rolling cigarettes. I never understood why they had me stand in the hall and tell them if my grandmother was coming. They were kinda odd, always laughing and in a good mood. Best times were spent driving up to the local Krystal for some burgers. Man, those guys could eat.
