I have been playing Aces High II online a lot, I am no fighter pilot, but one "ell" of a srike pilot. I fly twin engine A-20's, B-25's, and B-26's low and fast, sometime dodging the windmills on the screen and less than 100ft. I then climb steep, release bombs in a softball arc, roll out and back on the deck and gone. Other players call me "bomber guy" because I am real good at what I do, and hit the target more times than not. It is fun as a fighter will dive down on me, get target fixation and slam into the ground as he can not pull up fast enough after his firing run on me. I usually side slip out of his line of fire, and he can not comp fast enough. And when another player mans one of my defensive gun positions the more fighters slam into the ground being distracted more by the return fire. Occasionally I will fly a A-20 or B-25 "gunbus" with a hard nose and multiple .50cal mgs, and strafe the target with a few high speed passes. The B-25H has a 75mm gun that fires single shots, great on strafing runs (a real version actually flew in the Pacific with a 75mm gun)

I enjoy this more than Combat Arms for there is no hacking, and I do like to "fly".

I just sit home and do on-line classes, babysit grandson, and play on-line games----getting boring.

Have a CMP M1 Garand, was fun cleaning it (cosmoline) and refinishing stock. Shoots great and accurate. Even have a full sized WW2 bayonet for it.

I am working on a Arisaka 38 6.5mm I found at a pawn shop with the Imperial markings still present. Someone "sporterized" the stock. I have a stock inbound but the metalwork is harder to find.

Why wasn't this just put in the last 6 threads about you pretending to fly?

Because I just wanted to aggrivate you choopie911, since you seem to be taking the role of Tippmann Forum Thought Police.

Soon I'll be able to take people out that even think about posting threads I dont like.
Also, while we're on topic, I assume you have a somewhat legit setup (joystick etc) for all this flying?

Joystick, and a Yoke and rudder pedals, depends on my mood. Fighter's/fighterbombers joystick. Bombers and P-38, yoke and pedals.
Headset with mic if you want real time voice communication.        http://www2.hitechcreations.com/frindex.html - http://www2.hitechcreations.com/frindex.html

Yeah, I figured. Flying with keyboard and mouse sucks. However, I AM really tempted to bust out some Battlefield 2 soon, do some arcade flying.

Yup, he actually said that.

There goes the siren that warns of the air raid
Then comes the sound of the guns sending flak
Out for the scramble we've got to get airborne
Got to get up for the coming attack.

Jump in the cockpit and start up the engines
Remove all the wheelblocks there's no time to waste
Gathering speed as we head down the runway
Gotta get airborne before it's too late.

Running, scrambling, flying
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live. Aces high.

Move in to fire at the mainstream of bombers
Let off a sharp burst and then turn away
Roll over, spin round and come in behind them
Move to their blindsides and firing again.

Bandits at 8 O'clock move in behind us
Ten ME-109's out of the sun
Ascending and turning our spitfires to face them
Heading straight for them I press down my guns

Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live, Aces high.

High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee
No 412 squadron, RCAF
Killed 11 December 1941

The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Randall Jarrell, 1945

Do it if you dare
Leaping from the sky
Hurling thru the air
Exhilarating high
See the earth below
Soon to make a crater
Blue sky, black death
Im off to meet my maker

Energy of the gods, adrenalin surge
Wont stop til I hit the ground, Im on my way for sure
Up here in the air, this will never hurt
Im on my way to impact, taste the high speed dirt

It's a mod of BF2. If it's free I'm installing it within the hour.
