so i recently picked up 3 98s from a pawnshop and one was an act so i switched all my mods over from my old gun. i shot it for the first time today and like it better then my old 98 but i noticed that if or when a ball does not fall into chamber it shoots full auto like when you run out of c02? what causes this. is it worth upgradeing to the cyclone i dont want to go electric because i like a lowprofile hopper and they make a 50 rnd hopper for the cyclone so i would get that?

the ACT keeps the front Bolt from slamming into paint and bursting it. So the Marker still cycles but the Bolt doesn't strike forth. I have mine on my Alpha Black (98 intrenals) with a Cyclone and it works well.

yes i understand how that works and works flawlessly however when it is activated it goes into a full auto mode and wont stop until a ball falls into place?

Your gun shouldn't be doing that at all, the ACT isn't supposed to do that.  Maybe when a ball is getting stuck the hammer isn't hitting the pin with the amount of intended force therefore the hammer is not blowing back enough to catch the sear which could be giving you the full auto effect much like when your low on CO2.  That or you have problems with your sear or something.

Take your gun apart and make sure everything's in place and oiled correctly.  Make sure the rear plastic plate isn't sideways or anything also, I know that's not great for the ACT, although I'm not sure it's possible to get that out of line unless you have a stock or something without the small extra notch of plastic that prohibits that.
