use a ref shield like the refs do, or a saucer sled. You just need to set up a scenario that allows them.

We incorporated shilds with any single dimension not greater than 24 inches
into our last scenario event.

Some players loved it, some hated it. It is a good 'one time' inclusion.
Of course shield hits were not counted, so you could continue.

Not a bad idea.  IMO sheilds seem to be fair game I think, in the games I've played they have anyway.  A few of my friends used shield, one even unscrewed a stop sign before playing and used that.  Sure it's kind of cheap in that it blocks the paintballs, but it weighs you down alot limiting your running speed, manueverablility,  greatly lowering accuracy with your paintball gun by only having one arm, and may even disable you from walking the trigger and shooting fast if your going semi.

So yea, it's always a cool idea.

My first thought was "what a stupid idea."

Upon reflection though, I have to admit that a game with small shields (max 24" diameter) and pistols might actually be kind of cool.

(Think gladiators.)

I'd give that a shot. I love pistol games.

pistol and pumps with shields are a blast mack, you gotta try it. the only thing about shields tho, is that you can only use pumps or pistols, and the max size for a shields is usally no bigger then 24" x 36"
