So my friends car was stolen overnight. It turned into a chase later on today, http://www.thetimesherald.com/article/20090331/NEWS05/90331013 - heres the story. My friend said that they crashed into a sand trap and took off. Hes not sure yet how much damage is done. |

I think it was a bad car to steal, it has a body kit on it and an aftermarket hood, so I would imagine it was easy to spot. |

Well, he only had PLPD on it, and I don't think they would cover it if it was stolen. At least they got caught and he can take them to civil court. I doubt he'll ever get any money from them, but at least it will make their life that much more miserable once they are out of prison. |

My friend had his car stolen a few months back. They took the rims, the cup holders, and I think the passenger door, I can't really recall. Pretty crazy stuff. Taken right in front of his house and hit doors were locked and alarm was on. Now he's got that Viper Alarm thing. -------------

I just talked to my friend. The car is totoalled and they torched the inside of the car. He's not sure how, but the inside of the car was like burned up as if they took a torch and just burned everything including books for his classes, clothes, shoes and some other stuff. I'm going with him tomorrow morning to the police department to look at the car. I'll get some pics for sure. |

They were going real fast through the golf course (I guess as fast as you probably can on soggy grass), and hit a ditch and went airborn. There was grass jammed up into the engine.  For whatever reason, they decided to burn the seat and ceiling, the whole interior of the car is covered in sut    He had subs in the back, but those are missing. I don't know if hes gonna bother to repair it or not. Even if he can fix it, it will be hard to get the smoke smell out of it. |

He only has PLPD. Suing them won't do any good. Considering they're thieves, I doubt they'll ever have any money. Maybe once they get out of jail/prison, they could garnish their wages. I guess that would be better than nothing, nickel and diming them for the next 30 years. |
