Subject: T-A5 Does feed unrelieble

I have bought a used tippmann A5 marker with flatline, normal semi-automatick grip. The whole thing is original tippmann parts.
Problem: When i shoot, 2-4balls come perfektly, then it stops feeding. I push the manual feeder and i can shoot 1-4bals again and then i have to manual feed once more.
What i have tried to do: Changed airsours, Oil in ASA, Stripped gun and Oiled all O-rings, Stripped and oiled Cyclone, Changed flatline to normal A5-barrel,.
Theory: Could it be that the drivespring is to week? If so, kan i pull it a litle to make it stronger or do i have to by a new one?
I thank you for your replyes and helping advise, Jonas

sounds like a problem i had with my 98 with a cyclone. make sure your banjo t is in tight, and make sure the power tube isn't split or cracked like mine was.

Banjo used to be in tight, but now i read that it might help to line up the hole in the banjo with the hose. To achive this i have to loosen the banjo a little. I will test it, write how it goes. Think im going to order som new springs also, just in case.

Check the ratchet out inside the cyclone feed system. It might have broke. JCS makes the jet click and TechT makes the vortex. Both are made out of metal and are better than the stock plastic ratchet you have on the inside

make sure you are using a High Pressure output tank (800psi+) if you are using compressed air
check the banjo fittings, check the cyclone Cylinder Seal, replace the spring last only if necessary.
I noticed on mine when it started doing something similar to this everything was fine except the spring which had become too soft and didnt return the piston and ratchet as it did new and stiff.

HPA, Read something about the tanks can cause truble? Im going to try another tank next time, also going to shorten the skrues, check the power tube and the walve, check the banjo O-rings and line them up. I will write back after testing again..... hope its not the tank, they cost a **** load of money in norway. About $180 for the cheepest and smalest you can get.

I checked the Rachet again.... this time i noticed that smal parts had broken of from the gripping edge. Therefor it did not cach the feed aksel on every turn. Skipping every 3-4shots. reeplased it and works like a charm. The Rachet that was in it was made of clear plastick and relatively flexible, i changed it to a hard black plastick one. Now, -witch type is the new one from tippmann... the clear one or the hard black one? -I have changed rachet 3times on one of my a5 (the one with e-grip) in 6months.... about 6games and 3000bals played. Should it not last longer? (one rachet costs me $6 plus transport).
I also had to shorten the 4 skrues, they had left marks in the padles thats how far inn the had gone, ofcours tha could weeken tha paint. Checed the powertube and the walve, they were alright.
Still breaking some bals, but i noticed my paint (Black Boks, yellow paint if somebody knows it) was almost one year old. Every ball has a dimp in them, dont know how they got it, i have stored them well, but i gues paint has an expired date? Il by new paint next time, hope it works 100% then.
Thanks for all the help guys,
Jonas

Jonas, you may want to look into the Tech-T mods or something similiar. They come with a metal ratchet.

I have the TechT vortex on both of my A-5's and have no complaints. It is worth the $20 or so they charge, especially if you are going through 3 in six months (3 * $6 = $18). This will last you a substantial amount of time longer. Easy does it when you tighten up the screws under your cyclone. If they are too tight you will rip the paintballs apart in your hopper. If you see dimples on the paintballs, go ahead and just throw them away. They will do nothing but cause problems for you out on the field. I usually don't keep anything beyond 3-4 months
