So, I actually played today for the first time since August, 2004. A friend of mine that I used to play with back in high school called me up today and invited me to a game they were putting together.
All my tanks need to be re-hydro tested, so I had to go to Dick's, buy some crappy paint and a 12 oz. CO2 tank for my ACI Maverick pump. Anyway, I played against a bunch of people with semi autos, shot some people out, had a great time, and might actually start playing again.
I want a Phantom.

Phantoms are great.
Do you like Nelson based pumps or Sheridan? My guess is Nelson since you use a mav and want a Phantom.
I've owned 3 Phantoms, 1 Buzzard, 2 PGPs, 3 P68SCs, 1 Mav/Trracer, and currently own a Pug.
I love the Pug... all the greatness and beauty of a P68SC, but much better efficiency.

I'm in the same boat Benji. I played for the first time in over a year last Saturday, I'm hooked again.
The amazing thing is that with the PSP cap being dropped to 10bps, Mech markers actually stand a chance out there these days.
I was inspired enough to finish up my Matrix-98 and just dropped a ton of cash on replacement gear for stuff that was old, cracked, or just worn out. Thank God for tax returns!

Have not played since the summer of '06.
It's a combination of not having enough free time and an ongoing boycott of the commercial paintball fields in the area.

Once I get a more steady source of income, I'll probably head out to a field again.

I sold all my paintball guns and gear except my original Brass Eagle KingCobra pump and my original 68 Special. The sit in my gun cabinet waiting for a place on my "I love me" wall in the new house. There are no paintball "fields" in the area, and the speedball court is not my thing, and player pool is too small to warrent an expense of any sort.
I do miss the old TWC days, and the occasional big scenarios but with my handicap I think that even those days are long over.
I do play airsoft, and sit in my hide with a DMR, best I can do, and reach out and touch people when applicable.

Tank Time!!!!!!
Seriously OS, there's always room for a gunner in those things.
On that note, pre-reg for "Spring Castle" (EMR) is close to 900ppl now for those who care. Should be a hell of an event this year! Too bad I'll be doing wedding crap and won't get to go.

I have looked at getting a John Deere 6X4 Gator exactly for that purpose. Put a lightweight plywood "armor" with a turreted gun over passenger seat and a 4 player dismounted infantry bay with ramp and firing posrt in rear. An Airsoft/Paintball Fighting Vehicle.

I actually got out and played last year, haven't gotten to yet this year.
One of my friends has 2 four-wheelers that we've used for "tanks" in the past. No "armor," just fast driving and accurate shooting.

Paintball. Paintball..... it rings a bell.
Actually the last time I played was last year this time. Played for a friends bachelors party. Didn't want to upstage anyone with my minimally tricked 98 so only took a couple of pods along with a 2000 round crate.
The best man lived up to his name, complete with an AK style A5 and an M4 style X7. I still managed a decent hit/out ratio.

Benji, there's a little field up near Bowling Green called BullCreek. It's been the closest decent field I have found so far.

Ahh. Didn't realize you were back in Cleveland. If you are ever into doing a scenario, there is a place called Battlefront up in Hubbard that is a great field. My brother and I are headed up there this weekend.

I would have rather been playing paintball than sitting through 1 1/2 hours of church and than sitting around watching my kids spin themselves into sugar induced frenzies.
