Ok I need some help from someone who owns a prolite and doesn't mind measuring a few parts for me. How long is the linkage arm,(metal connecting rod that connects the rear and front bolts, underneath the sight), overall length is ok? How long is your recoil spring-- All the websites,(doro paintball, Tippmanparts.com) are all wrong and Apparently even Tippman Factory doesn't know anymore ,so.... Please only answer if you know the correct lengths from measuring an actual one on a PROLITE 4 3/4 inches for the linkage arm is WRONG and 7 inches for the spring is probably WRONG- this is what all the websites show, and the procarbine is NOT the same |

OAL on the linkage arm is 4 1/2 inches.
Recoil spring is 7 inches (about 2in longer than most other Tippmanns) |

I have the 7 inch spring and it seems as if it will never all fit in there without stovepiping or crumples, is it really hard to get them installed ? Thanks for the spec on the link, that seems just about right, I am going to have to custom make one up from some SS spring Antenna wire. |

It seems like it's too long and would bind up... but it'll work. 
So long as you have your guide-pin, it should be fine. It will be tougher getting it in than it would for a ProCarb/98/etc |

| It just takes the right method for re-inserting that monstrous spring. But now i seem to have figured out just how to manipulate it, vice grips help by compressing a chunk of it on the guide pin so the rest won't fight back as hard...then once the pin is in it's slot, release the clamp. |

thanks for the responses, I made the link the length you said and it worked great, Yes the spring is hard to install but I found if you do it with the bolt back it is actually easier to to do then forward, opposite to conventional thinking-- I guess it gives the spring a place to compress into( the bolt) ? and stay straight, anyway its working great so there you go! again - Thanks for good solid info |
