hey guys anyone i need to know how to make my 98 custom as lightweight as possible without getting rid of my response trigger, halo hopper, and 14 inch barrel....any suggestions? what should i get? |

grind off every non essential piece of metal. Purchase a lightweight hammer, get a carbon fiber barrel, etc.

I always though 98's were pretty light. Maybe you should get a smaller tank and don't fill your hopper so much. And also you should lift weights so you're not a girly-man.

I'd say if your that bent on making it THAT light you should just do away with the barrel and get a shorter one, smaller hopper, remote line, take the plastic front grip off, rear sight off, grind crap off. I mean really the only thing those are going to do is take a few grams off or so, and I mean, what is a few grams? That and grinding stuff off incorrectly or at all will probably make your gun look like king kong's bo-sack after taking a hit from a missile. Conclusion - Buy a lighter gun, or upgrade your Tippmann with different goals in mind.

Really, Macroline and a ZeroKick hammer is the fastest way to remove weight safely.
The marker is resonably light stock. Finished this for a team mate 20 minutes ago.
It weighs 1162 grams without attempting to lighten it.
Really, 1160 grams is not that heavy, an Eclipse Geo for instance weighs 860 grams,
and it's all stock inside. Add a zero kick and you could trim a few more off.
The gas through is strictly for comfort and balance, but is lighter than the stock grip.

if you really want to make you're 98 lighter, tallens got it mostly.
other then that, the halo is heavy, and lets be honest, even with an R/T, a halo is kinda overkill for a 98. another hopper will lighten it alot. a j&j ceramic barrel wieghs almost nothing - and its a great barrel, that said, while everyones giving you a hard time, its pretty much the truth - get a lighter gun, lift some weights, play with an old school shocker for a while, something, you're only gonna get so far and the 98 isn't really that heavy in the first place. |

Tie helium baloons to it
Drill the holes bigger in the barrel
50 round hopper
Take off the trigger guard
The saftey probably weighs 6 grams. 6 grams is 6 grams
take off the rubber grips
take out the ASA screws

why do you want a lighter gun? well, you could get a pro carb (i think it might be lighter not too sure, ill weigh mine when i get home) or you could get a tm7 with a small barrel 50 round hopper and like a small tank but other than that idk what to do with a 98 its light enough, unless you want to risk your structural integrity of the marker and its durability then dont mess with it. ------------- 04 Spyder Xtra 08 98c Platinum Pro Carbine Phiranna PMI Pistol |

Tippmann 98s have a lot of metal to them You can mill the area out where a vertical adapter would sit cut of the fron grip mill down the rear site you can even mill the (external) sides of the 98 down like literally the gun its self, the round area where the powertube and hammer are -------------
