So far:

Stainless bolts
Polished up the barrel tip and 12g changer cap
Milled down the barrel shroud and polished it (Gills, ooh-rah)

Ill probly get around to de-ano'ing and polishing the safety pretty soon. I wish I had some chrome foil so I could chrome out the Tippmann lettering on the side. Gotta turn down and polish the velocity adjuster on the rear too.

I don't see nothin'. Something seems to be loading but then it never does. I've really been wanting one of those TPX's, but I found a friend with a virtually brand new Sony Bravia 32" for only 3 hundos so...... choices....
Being unemployed sucks... not as much as being unemployed and having to actually support myself... but still... 's bollocks.....

Enos, put an A-5 barrel on it then polish that, a longer barrel on your setup like that would look pretty awesome.

So after some firing tests today:

12 gram changer is awesome sauce.

But...Good quality paint is absolutely a MUST with the TPX. If you get one, dont even try to put anything cheap through it. Some generic BE paint I picked up was detonating in the barrel at least once every magazine. It also seems to be hard on thin-shell paint, the bolt seems to hit with a TON more force than a full-size Tippmann. And you really dont want to have to clean a gooped up chamber and magazine in this thing, trust me.

But bloody hell. With some good PMI paint, its a freaking demon of a gun. Dead-nuts accurate for a pistol, and I got easily 3 magazines off one cartridge.

I too was told three strong mags off of a 12g, then a week 4th.

*edit - Enos, are the body screws 98 or A-5 length?
I just bought a 98 stainless screw kit so....

Yeah I'm not sure about that paint quality thing, as I bought some "stryker" paint from Wal Mart, the cheapest they had, and after 128 rounds I haven't had a single chop/ barrel break, even when shooting as fast as possible.

Sickness! Why not dremel the paint off the lettering and polishing up? Easy sub for foiling the tippmann logo. Awesome job!

They're ballistic polymer, not metal.

Well I bought the cheap stuff from Meijer (Basically like a wal-mart clone chain), which happened to be Brass Eagle. Well actually it was the only brand they had at all.

This stuff is horrid. Very very small size, very thin shell. A drop test from thigh-height will break the balls. So thats the problem.

Okay, so. Again for this thread, if you buy a TPX NEVER take the magazine apart.

Never ever ever take the magazine apart! Yes, cleaning the magazine sucks if you get a ball chop, but taking the magazine apart will suck more, I GUARANTEE it.

I took one of mine apart the day I got the gun out of curiosity. Now, you wouldnt think theres that many parts in there. You are wrong. Theres three springs, and about 4 parts that have to fit together precisely or the thing doesnt work.

Tonight with the help of a friend, I finally got the dissasembled magazine back together. Yes, you read that right, it took FOUR HANDS and about 30 minutes and about 10 attempts to get it back together.

So really, dont do that. It sucks.

Ugh, cleaning the mag after a break IS a pain in the neck.

I clipped the mag release, and as it was sliding out, I slapped it back in, crunching one of the balls that come loose when the magazine gets locked into place. It gooed up the chamber and the top of the mag. I didn't take the thing apart, but it took me almost 15 minutes to get the top of it clean again.

I was too chicken to take the mag apart, and it seems like it was a good thing I was.

Reb: I almost did the exact same thing.  I ejected it, but pushed it back up before it came out (since I was used to playing with empty mags)  and since 2 balls fall out when you do that, I almost crushed them inside the grip, but thankfully didn't.

the spring inside is gonna be steel. I wouldn't run is under water unless you can fully dry it out. You could always load it with cotton balls.

What is the official guide to cleaning such mess? If the spring is stainless steel then it should be fine to run water on it right?

The springs and hardware inside the magazine are NOT stainless steel. Which seems a bit of a design oversight on Tippmann's part.

Going for a 45 flavor, fingergrooves go next.

Careful, theres not much room to work with on those finger grooves.

I was considering getting rid of the weaver rail, but I couldnt decide if it would look good. I was considering rounding it off though, just leaving the bolt areas.

Also on mine I removed that weird lanyard(?) point on the rear bottom of the grip, I also rounded off the back of the front sight for a cleaner draw.

I just came from pbreview where some kid is bashing this fine piece of work because he can't figure it out. He claims that both he and his brother have one that is chopping every clip. People have commented on his paint type since there is no way they each got a bad setup. Everyone want to go over there and correct them that own the TPX? He gave it a 1 out of 10 and dropped its overall to an 8.5.
