Hi everybody... new to the forums..
Just dusted off my SMG 60 for first time in 15 years and got some air in my tank.
Fired up a few dry rounds then took it out back to shoot some old paint when air started rushing through the barrel until it totally drained my 20oz air tank.

Now I assumed it was an o-ring and took the gun apart. When I got to the gun valve I got stuck... I couldt get the darn thing out! I looked at both schematics that are out there, took out pins that were around that area... and still cant get it out! it wont budge....I can only get it like 1/3 way out, and there is no locking screw on the top like the one schematic says.... just the site. Do I have to take the trigger assembly apart too? I dont understand... it looks like it should slide right out...

Can anyone elighten me as to how to get this valve out! I am going to have to replace it anyway I think because I damaged it trying to take it out. You will notice the outer metal ring and o-ring are off the end thanks to my stupidity. My frustration got the best of me.    :(

So another question... is there a compatible Tippman valve I can use with this gun? Or any other valve? Like the SL68 or 68 Special?

Im gonna cry if I cant fix this baby.....

Any help would be appreciated and any info on coverting this thing to 68 or other cal... What good is a beast like this if you cant use it...easily!

Thanks for your reply.. but I looked at those previously and it didnt help. The 1 scan that shows the valve being removed has the external gas line on the side.... mine has internal.... and it shows a screw being pulled from the top where the site is.... and mine doesnt have any such screw in that position...

And the one diagram that looks like mine with the internal line... its at such low res that I cant discern what I am doing wrong.

I was never able to remove my valve entirely, only the internals. I'm pretty sure its held in place by the internal gasline.
