 Has anyone here ever thought: WHY CAN WE JUST BLOW THEM UP INSTEAD OF SHOOTING AT THEM WITHOUT EFFECT?!?!?! Well, Tippman, can you make a paintball rocket launcher that can be sold to the public instead of making our own? I have an idea.....but it may be a wee bit expensive.... in the way of co2. xD 2 Co2 canisters attatched to a 2-3ft long tube with a firing mechanism... Just a rough thought but it migt work.... Thanks!-------------

| I find it interesting how excited people get about paint grenade launchers. I wonder how enthustiastic they would be if they actually got hit with a fist sized paint balloon? I'll bet interest would drop off quite quickly after spending the rest of the day walking around covered in paint schmeg. |

 Good thing you asked! In the eye socket , there is a hole at the back that is made for the optic nerve. IF someone isnt wearing any type of armor covering the eye and is shot in the eye, a piece of plastic may be shoved into that hole, thus into the cranium. That, or if someone shoots you at point blank in the base of the skull of the nose maybe, you might be seriously, or fatally injured. Hope this clarifies :)  Seen here *thanks from wikipedia pics* is the eye socket. See that white blob at the back of it? Now look to the right of that were the yellow nerve leads. That is where the optic nerve will connect to the brain a little further in. Its a 1 in a million chance, but you will still either be dead or blind.-------------

one of my old friends got shot in the eye during one of the games because he didnt own a mask. he was perfectly fine later that day. so your argument is a moot point.

na i saw it right after it happened. his eye was covered in paint. once we rinsed it out he was good to go in a few hours. no damage at all

I got shot in the leg from about 30' by a marker that later had chronod at 370fps (we were playing on private property, not a managed course). 10 days later I still have the welts. over 300 fps can shatter mask lenses, don't tell me it couldn't pop an eyeball. That being said I saw a nice design for a paint cannon that fires 27 paintballs in a sabot round. Looks like a potato cannon. Incidentally, a paintball gun can kill you by causing a bloodclot in an artery should you get hit in the right place (neck being one of them). This was a concern of my wife when I first started playing until I got neck protection. She also happens to be a board certified RN of 15 years since you require the opinion of someone familiar with physiology. |

| Other then the fact that the EGL 47 is a mock M203 grenade launcher that u put on the end of your marker it is also 800 dollars and i dont think somebody that is looking for something that is affordable considers an 800 dollar M203. |

whoever suggested to use a potatoe gun is an idiot.
I know a guy who was shooting D-batteries and crap out of a potatoe gun and it pretty much demolished anything it hit. So imagine getting hit by a large bag of paint, which is probably moving at higher velocity than a standard paintball, hitting you square in the chest or in the head. it will probably kill you.

agreed 10000% i know people who have gotten winded from a nerf football (well as much as would fit in the patato gun) out of a patato gun just imaging paint balls hitting you at that speed. and to prove my point patato gun guy if u wanna see what i mean (because i cant say go try since that would induce violents even tho its twards an idiot) "dont try it" wink wink

Oh and on the subject of firing silly things I've sen an electrical screwdriver getting fired out of a SP1 (with a round end with a cone indent pretty much the same size as the barrel) first time it got stuck in the frame of another SP1 (like it stuck into the metal) It went into wood so far that we needed pliers to get it out. Oh and it went completely into a cinderblock. It was incredibly stupid and dangerous but epic. |

I have 4-year old scars from playing in my back woods. It's not cool when a paintball tears your shirt and draws blood. This happened on my arm and my chest. Non-chronoed markers are bad news but masks cannot be broken by the force of a standard paintball gun being shot at the outside of a mask. Paintball masks are designed like fire-fighter masks. They are tested to see how much force it take to shatter them, then that level of force is cut in half and labeled the safe limit. Paintball masks are safe to about 600 psi. If you take your mask off and shoot it from the inside, you should throw it away because shooting the inside of he lens compromises the integrity of the mask. Paintball guns are capable permanent damage to eyes and face and have done this many times. There has never been a case of faulty gear (masks) causing damage. Every case was because a person wasn't wearing gear properly or not wearing any at all. They can kill a person but they never have. CO2 tanks have killed a few people though. I did a college paper on paintball safety. A +  Potato guns are not cool. They are extremely painful. Nerf cannons are bad enough.

Whatever the upper limit of paintball mask structural integrity is, paintballs should never be fired at other people in excess of 300 fps. It is a bad idea to play anyplace where the markers are not chronographed to a safe speed. Any close range hit on the lens is reason to replace the lens. -------------
