I'm a woodsball player and Im looking to get a second gun that's capable of going full auto.  I'm partial to the a5 but I can't make up my mind when it comes to the trigger.
What do you guys recommend?
Also  what kind of batteries does the egrip use?

I would go with the egrip.

The A-5 RT never really worked like the 98 or X7 ones do.
The egrip takes a regular 9 volt battery.

for the price of an a5 with HE, I can simply upgrade my 98 to go full auto and have roughly $130 to spare.  should i just do that instead?

idk the a-5 is a good gun but i wouldn't spend the extra money to make the a-5 full auto if you could do the same thing to the 98 and save money. Plus you could buy alot of paint for $130

I bought an A-5 Response, and it's terrible. Never goes past 10 bps, and is very hard to sweetspot, only stays sweetspotted for a second. So it's not actually full-auto at all.  I sent it in to Tippmann twice to get it 'fixed,' but it worked better before hand. It's a waste of money. So if I were you, I'd go with an e-grip. And i don't see how a few tiny pieces of rubber and metal can cost $70 either...there's really not much to it.

I just sold my A5 R/T and some other stuff for store credit to get an e-trigger for my Alpha Black... and I am very happy! Didn't like the A5 R/T one bit...

I would just upgrade your 98 to a egrip because then you have $130 and a full auto gun.  With the egrip you can change the firing mades.

E-grips are actually quite durable. Short of dropping them in water, there is little to worry about with them. I had as many problems with my RT'd 98 as I did with my E-gripped A5's.  If you want durable, stick with a stock semi-auto and you will be trouble free 99.9% of the time.

IMO, anytime you "upgrade" a marker, you decrease the reliability/durability.
