I'm sure this has already been posted, but just in case D2D is doing a promotion for their fifth anniversary with http://www.direct2drive.com/d2dturns5 - five dollar games .

There's some recent games on the list, and some older ones like Bioshock that are worthing picking up for 5 bucks. This is MMO / RPG week, but they're still selling the previous weeks' games.

Yeah D2D is digital download pc game site. You just pay your 5 bucks and download the game.

I'm curious to see what they're gonna put for 5 bucks during the war game week.

Hmm, some good deals there, but nothing I'm dying for. Passing the word on though, thanks for the heads up

If they were for Xbox I probably would get some. I am pretty sure they're not though

Figured I'd bump this.

The next batch of games will be out in two hours. This week is indie games.

Hmmm...can't say I'm too excited about the indies, but I am hoping Braid makes the list. I've been looking for an excuse to play it since it hit XBLA.

Maybe check out the Path as well, heard it was fairly interesting in a twisted kind of way.

Wish I'd known about it the first week.  Could have been some strategy games I would have picked up.

Me neither.

Can't wait for war games, i'm sure they are saving the best for last.

Yeah they're scraping the bottom in my opinion. I'm sure there are some good underground hits in that list, like Mount and Blade, or whatever it's called, but nothing I'm interested in enough to pay for.

I don't have a ton of hope for wargame week either to be honest. I've played all of the CoD's to death, so unless they just blow my mind with surprises, I'm probably done.

Interestingly though, the "still available" list has gotten somehow better with a bunch of great games added to the list.

I noticed as well.  Still nothing worth buying, as far as I could tell.

Note: do not buy Frontlines: Fuel of War.  Played for about an hour, and it is absolute crap.

I picked up the entire X-Com series. I forgot how frustratingly hard that game is.

Hellz yeah...I've been looking for a reason to play Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander, and I'm surprised to see the newer ones on here.

Kind of baffled why only one of the DoW games made the list, and why they picked that particular expansion. I'll still likely buy it either way.

*edit* Just realized the CoH and Supreme Commander both come with their respective expansion packs...wow....

Steam often has actually awesome games on sale/free weekends.

I'm not impressed by the D2D selections.

CoH and WaW are probably worth picking up if you haven't already played them.

As Pariel already pointed out, Steam has a better selection. Also, even though D2D's sale games are $5, you can try stuff for free on Steam during the free weekend. Take Unreal 3, they had a free weekend for it on steam a few weeks back and thanks to that I didn't actually waste money on the game. Yes, I'm saying the new Unreal sucks, they ruined onslaught and offer only slightly better texture and particle detail while managing to eat my processor alive. I honestly would be pissed if I payed even $5 for that game.
