I am planning on buying an x7 soon.  I am fairly new to paintball, played a few times this year.  Can somone suggest a few options to go with the X7?  tank type, nitro or compressed air?  barrel length? any other options?

Play with it a while and just have fun. You will find things that you might prefer to change in time.

A lot of us recommend a good mask as the first gear upgrade.

agreed with the last post. play with the x-7 stock for a while and see how it feels out of the box. a good mask is always my first upgrade then barrel. if you can afford it hpa is a good early upgrade but not necessary. i have had two x-7's for over three years now and the internals are stock with no problems. a friend of mine bought about $200 worth of upgrades for his x-7 and most of the time they stay at home and don't even make it into his gear bag. a couple of other simple additions are a remote line and sling. Thumbs Up

i personally like the extreme rage echo 20/20 w/fan. they work great for me but are kind of tight around the cheeks. (the one's on my face) v-force are also some good masks. what i did was go to a shop and try on several sets.
right now i'm using co2 so i'm not up on what hpa tanks are the best.
as far as barrels go there is a lot of info and reviews on this site and many others to get a good amount of imput on barrels. if you got the money a barrel kit is really nice. right now i'm using jj 14' barrels and 14' hammerhead battle stixx's. they are a lot cheaper and overall just as good in my openion as a lot of more expensive brands. sometimes when we are playing we will trade barrels with different people to see how they work with different markers and under different playing circumstances, you might try that to see which barrels wortk best. just remember to respect others people's gear and trust in letting you use thier stuff.
