...... I feel like your all family, so il come here for help.
Iv been dateing this chick (the one I made the thread about), and its all goin good. Tonight we start talking, and she tells me she was raped before she left for NY. Idk what to do guys. Iv known her forever, and this is the 3rd GF to tell me this. Now shes in NY alone, and the only way I can talk to her is on MSN. Her step mom in NY just lost her kid, and is now suicidal, so she dont think she can make it back to see me soon. On top of it all, she thinks she might be pregenant. I dont know what to do. Im broke apart and crying, she is too (webcam is a savior). What should I do? Iv known her long enough that I can honesly say that id help her if she does have a kid. But she refuses to go to the hospital in NY to get herself checked out (shes scared to tell her dad).

Yeah, because all rape victims report it to the police and find it so easily to do so...
But if I was in your situation I really don't know what I would do besides be there for a friend and maybe try to encourage (not overly encourage) her to report it. |

I'm sorry for your pain AL, but this looks like a classic poisoning of the wine scenario.
I think she doesn't have the parts to say it's over, or too hard in a long distance relationship,
so instead she's making herself into a mess you wouldn't want. Raped, pregnant, unable to
leave because someone else is suicidal..... That's enough for most guys to split.
Tell her your here for her if she needs you. My bet is she doesn't.

Ammolord, tell her to get a pregnancy test. If you seriously know this girl long enough and well enough to know that she is telling the truth, awesome, but also, don't let yourself get lost to the point of blindness. If the test is posative, she needs to talk to a doctor ASAP. Just try as best you can to keep your wits about you, and that goes for both of you. Easier said than done, I realize. Know what else is disgusting? Situations when girls use accusations of rape against people they consented to, but later regret having sex with. I'm sorry, but with people like that in this world, I'd just as soon believe in the possibility of the girl lying as I would her telling the truth given the limited details of this thread. Now, given his history with females (3rd girlfriend to tell him this), I think the more likely conclusion is not that rape actually happened, but that ammolord is attracted to the types of girls who would lie about this sort of thing to cover an instance of cheating. Case in point: I had a friend who preferred one type of girl. There were plenty in his social circles. All his girlfriends had eerily similar personalities, they all broke up with him for the exact same reason as each other. We could eventually predict the duration of his relationships and even the decay in duration over time. He threw us a wild-card by choosing a new type of girl and our predictions became useless. Ammolord had three girls tell him they were raped. Considering the fact that we all seek females we prefer, this strikes me as no coincidence. Sorry if the girl (or any of your previous mates) were actually raped. But unless the story clears up, I just can't buy it that all three of them were. -------------

It is a fact that wimminz be crazy. This shouldn't be overlooked. At about that age I've seen it happen up close. Police did get involved but she was still lying. Apart from that. If she's up the duff and you think it's yours then you have a lot to think about. Anything else just make sure you're there for her to talk to no-one can expect any more. |

Never did anything with her. Its taken her a month to tell me. I can see why. Her dad flipped out and her mom called me crying while i was at lunch.
And no, she told me cuz we were talking, and she suddenly broke down. Not cuz she thinks she's pregnant. Shes just worried cuz its a possibility.

Fo sho. If I had a nickle for every time a girl told me she got raped I'd have atleast $3.50. There was an interesting study I stumbled across a few months ago (I'll go see if I can dig it up) but the conclusion was that >70% women who say they got raped and/or rufied are just pulling the sympathy card.

Granted, I'm pretty cynical where women are concerned but the coincidence of having the breakdown around the same time she started realizing she's pregnant (when there was apparently no warning the breakdown was coming) seems suspicious.

She needs to be more adult. Yes this may be hard IF she actually was raped, however she's being very immature about the whole deal. Who cares if she's scared of daddy, her life is MUCH more important than being naive and ignoring it because of your dad. |

I had A G/F from minot do the same thing back in college. Then the guy ended up at out college the next sem, Then they were best friends and nothing was ever said about it again. It ended right then and there.
I'm not saying it's a minot thing, and I don't know this girl. Be there for her. If she doesn't want you there she will come out with it sooner or later. She has family helping her now, that will take some stress off of you. I know it hurts now, but you'll get something worked out.
We have young ladys come in and call rape untill they talk to the detectives "female detective" and they confess that they just didn't like daddy or B/F finding out they they were messing around. But There are rapes that are and are not reported. It is a very personal and embaressing "spelling" thing for any one to talk about. Take it slow.

Shes from fargo, her mom moved her to minot after her rents split up. I told her im here for her, and that il do as much as I can to help her out. right now, she wont stop crying, and definatly wants to see me over thanksgiving break.

Ammolord, just a guess but your AD, and in being so you have lots of avenues to get some advice on what to do in your situation. Maybe talk to a Chaplain who may be able to give you some real guidance (not necessarily religious), instead of say a forum that is full of immature, or people just looking to make jokes and may not truly care about your situation. And before I get flamed, I'm not saying this forum is JUST immature members, but there are plenty of you that aren't entirely ready to lend any sort of advice on a situation that is this sensitive.
Back to topic, if your GF really went through this terrible ordeal, the best thing you can do is to be there any way possible to support her, because she won't receive the love and support she needs from family or friends and will be very embarrassed about what happened. She's going through probably one of the most emotionally difficult times in here life, she needs you to listen and let her know that through all this your still there. Keep an eye out, and if you think things are going downhill, give her Dad a call and have a good talk with him. Just my thoughts, my wife was raped when she was a young teenager, about 2 years before we started dating, in that two years she never spoke to anyone about it, and it was never reported because she was embarrassed. To this day, her mom still doesn't know it happened. Still, 8 years she's affected by the events that occurred on that day. One day while in Tech School she was having an especially hard time, not being able to sleep, she kept replaying what happened in her mind over and over again. What was I to do? We were across the country from each other. I went and talked to my 1st Shirt and he counseled me and gave me few names and numbers for both of us. It helped immensely. I suggest you talk with her, and if she's comfortable get the full story, go from there.
