Go with the response.

No battery needed, great once you get the hang of it. Set it down to 8 or so BPS and have fun
playing.

Did the upgrade the response triggers? You can't set BPS on the one I have. Mine is essentially just a tube with a stick in it.

The res trigger is pretty good but it's kinda inconsistent.

The response trigger (R/T) has always had the capability of adjusting rate of fire.  Approximate BPS can be sent by altering the rate of airflow through the fitting that goes into the grip frame.  The first models had a knob at this location for this purpose.  Due breakage issues this was replaced with a small slotted screw in later models.

Original poster:  The R/T is great for woodsball.

As an added benefit, if you are using CO2 the R/T will generally quit working correctly (i.e the marker will revert back to semi-auto or you will only get sporadic R/T operation) before you start getting velocity issues.  It acts as kind of an early warning system for a nearly empty CO2 tank.
