A satirical, humorous comic actually got me thinking about something:

After we - Generations Y and Z - have kids, we probably won't have anything for them to change and us be bigots to about.  Think about it - the generation before us had civil rights and interracial marriage, we have gay rights, secularization, marijuana rights, et cetera.  What will our kids want to change that can incite us into an irrational rage and exclaim "back in my day!"?

I think it's unfair.  We deserve to be bigots too!

Maybe they'll move backwards on individuals' rights in order to protect the good of society. Back in my day, we used to voice our opinions openly on the internet!

That, what HV said, or they will want group marriages and animal sex or something that sounds crazy to us.

I'm sure there will be something. I'm sure our parents didn't see most of the stuff coming that they are now biggots about.

I'll just tell my kids I hate everything they like. It's the only way to maintain the balance.

The major issues of each successive generation will likely be more complex, and much more focused. 200 years ago, it was slavery. 50 years ago, it was civil rights. 50 years from now, it will be something that our generation failed to do. Something like getting rid of world hunger or homeless people. Who knows.

I suggest we kill everything with nuclear weapons.  It's the only way to prevent the horrible possibilities of the future.

We are not anywhere near the end of the gay rights movement. Not even close.

There are too many people who are members of the sky-wizard cult for serious movement to begin.

I lol'd at "sky-wizard".
I'm sure there will always be one group oppressing another group somewhere in the world.

For the record, certain members of the sky-wizard cult are OK with gay people doing whatever they want.

I would ask you to better define what you meant, but I'm not sure that I really want to hear the response.

Like if a gay guy comes up and waves feathers or tries to make a pass on me or something. Its never happened and probably never will but its like a fear, sort of. Like a fear of sharks, but you will probably never get bitten. :P I'm very tolerant towards gay people compared to other people I know.

I realise that. I just think you have a very innaccurate perception of gay people as a whole. There are a couple odd ones (same with straight people) but the large majority do not prance around with feathers(guys) or shave their heads and look like a lumberjack(gals)

Alright I should come out straight with you guys (no pun intended). I'm a bit homophobic towards flamboyantly gay people. There are gay guys that dress up in drag that wave junk around.

EDIT: and I don't mean all gay people I could care less, but just the flamboyant ones.

please my girlfriend and i live in a very progressive city and are still looked at oddly (we are and interracial couple) those peoples kids will go up with thier mind set. it'll be a long time off before anything really changes for interracial relationships or gay rights.

Essentially what Rofl is saying is that he doesn't mind gay people, just doesn't like the ones that are a little too gay.

The thought of someone being legit afraid of someone of the same sex hitting on you is kinda funny.

I just take stuff like that as a compliment.
