So its around 12:30 am here and its been raining since 9:00pm and the road outside my house is flowing like a river at 1-1.5 ft. I know you guys have been through worse, but its unusual where I live.

Last time streets around here flooded, I watched all the local 'redneck' kids drag all sorts of crap behind their trucks in an attempt to create a new sport... Couches with people on it, wake boards, ect.

I, for one, am looking forward to the storm coming up the Atlantic coast. Should dump a good amount of snow on the slopes around here. Timberline, here I come!

It is actually a physical impossibility for my house (or my street for that matter) to flood due to the fact that my house sits on top of a hill.

Yeah? Well my house has two chimneys!

The forced proper structure and tone in that sentence is a bit ironic considering it's content. Seriously I keep having to read it again in case there actually is a point to it.

The sig is ironic in a way.

Yup, he actually said that.

Heh.... that's what you think.... Hope you still have flood insurance because there are PLENTY of ways that a flood can affect you on a hill.

Truth. My house is on top of a hill, but that doesn't mean the nearby drainage ditches, creeks, and low spots don't flood.

edit- Basements, too.

It was higher last night, but I couldn't take pictures cause of the dark so heres 12 hours later and its still a pretty decent depth. Also some spots are deeper than others.

Crazyness. Man a flood is one thing I never want to deal with when I own a home. I just cant imagine knee/ waist deep water in any room being easy to deal with. The amount of damage, etc

The parking lot at my old HS was more treacherous than that. All dirt and rutted from the "rednecks" with their monster Chevy's.... After a day of good rain it there would be spots where my 33" tires would almost be completely under water. I'm surprised that nobody ever hydrolocked their engine.

A few years back there was a flood in my neck of the woods.  I wish I had saved the pictures - there was one of me and 2 of my neighbors sitting at a picnic table in his backyard, up to our necks in water.
