finished it today. Stands at 3' (that's approx 1 meter to you pinkos up north). If the wind dies down enough tomorrow I'm gonna launch it.
Edit:
Launched on Monday. Took video, forgot to follow the rocket up with the camera for a moment. I'll take better footage when I launch again tomorrow.
Anyway, here's what I got:

I'm surprised you didn't design it after something soviet made.

The best thing to do is get the cheap kits with your buddys and play dodge-rocket from about 300 yards....

AMAZON, hence my question to HV. It seems to be similar fin, nose cone, and body construction.

I've had it for years, so my kit was older than the one on their site. This one doesn't break down into smaller sections, or fit E engines I think. I had one exactly like yours, tallen, but I broke a fin one day when the chute failed to open completely.

I still have my old Estes Patriot from 10+years ago around here somewhere. Only thing it needs is a new nose cone. My parachute chord snapped on its last flight so the rest of the rocket just free-fell. Held up fine other than that.

I used to make rockets from scratch with my dad. We would put in windows and put in a payload of either a lizard or a random large bug. I should get back into it, rockets are fun.

i made a few when i was younger. quite fun and we had a big lake that once frozen was perfect for launching off of. i liked my 1000ft rocket till it melted its chute and smashed to peices on the ice...opps.

I used to be a big "rocketeer" as well. My neighbor was also a science geek, so he was member of an actual club. I'd go to launches where the used those big reusable engines. Fun to watch. I remember one homemade rocket's chute failed to open. Thing was, this rocket was like 12' tall and 8" in diameter. It suffered a bit more damage than a cracked nose cone. I remember the tracker yelling at everyone to run. :)

I built a rocket once. I glued the nose cone on and inserted a small bag of black powder.

Sort of. I was a lot younger so I didn't understand that it would need to be compressed for a satisfying explosion so all I got was a little "poof" and a broken rocket.

I miss the days where I used to launch rockets.
There was never anything more dissappointing than making a nice rocket you really care about, and never finding it again.

No joke, where I grew up (Whitehorse, Yukon) no store sells model rocket engines. They are impossible to find, because years ago a teacher was kidnapped and the students that did it used model rocket engines to build pipe bombs (or at least try to, as she didn't die)
But yeah, could never buy them, I've only used a rocket once in grade 10 science.

We used to just tape a shishkabob stick to a C engine for a bottle-rocket substitute, god those things are fast when they aren't pushing a rocket. We tried various home-made rockets as well, but the fins had a tendancy to break off and the rocket would go stupid. I think the black-powder football cannon was our most entertaining attempted at explosive recreation.

Ditto.
I've still got my "Retarded Mosquito around here somewhere.
I made a modified Estes Mosquito to hold a E9-4 motor. I was too afraid to launch it.

I bored out a hole in the back of one of my pinewood derby cars. I think the c-6 that I put in it was a bit excessive because it only went about 10 feet before going out of control.

Well, I launched today with a C6-5 Estes engine in my Amazon. I dropped the launch rod by 10* in an effort to counter the 10-13mph winds we had today and I think I could have gotten away with 3-5* instead. Due to the flatter trajectory and wind, I only got an altitude of 400' but the parachute deployed properly and the whole thing came back to earth unscathed, so I feel rather accomplished. I took video, but it's kinda sucky since I forgot to follow the rocket up with the camera as well as my eyes. I'll take more footage at my next launch to post here.

I always bought the tiny, ultra high flying kits and pit in the biggest engine that fit. I never expected to get one back and thus was never disappointed when they didn't.

I want to Buy like 3 kits and build a Paintball SCUD Missile and use it to Nuke EMR's castle. get some cardboard tubing and have way to open a Trap door and rain paint from above.

Just find one where it deploys a parachute and replace it with black powder/ paint, then shoot it straight at them :)

I went out again! Did you?
Lost my mongoose rocket which I launched after this one. It drifted about 1/3 of a mile after parachute deployment and landed either in some deep, deep brush, or in the Potomac.

Had there been more than a light dusting I would have been out. Wouldn't count on braving the ridiculously cold air either. I'll wait til it tops freezing outside, Monday looks promising actually I'm betting on Tuesday.
