They toy gun was a toy gun. This is vandalization of property. she should be charged and made an example of, who does she think she is defacing school equipment like that. Desks are there to learn not to draw on.

Frankly, if she's going to show that little respect for the property of the state, she's likely in future to show a dangerous lack of respect for the state itself. Corrective measures should be used, and an example made.

The felony charge was just to prove a point and try to shock the guys into realizing that they are no longer 12 years old and that it is time to grow up. The felony charge won't stand. It will likely get plea bargained down to some minor misdemeanor with a punishment of community service and maybe a year of probation.

As for the snowball thing. There are laws against throwing "Missles" at people and property. The idea behind this is that the item thrown can cause injury and or damage to property. I have seen waterbaloons take out windshields. I have seen people hurt by snowballs that have had rocks / ice mixed in. Also throwing snowballs at the snowplow is not the best idea in the world. Same with moving vehicles, Most people have a hard enough time driving on icy / snow covered roads with out having the destraction of a hale of snowballs.
As for the snow blower thing. Blowing snow into the street doesn't doo too much good. It slows down traffic, gets plowed by city plow back into your driveway, and pisses alot of people off. There is a city ordiance against it here. But then again I live in North Dakota where if you plow the snow off of your driveway into the street you have a snow hill that can rival the size of a small car depending on the size of the driveway.
Basically if you respect the property that isn't yours, you shouldn't have a problem.
