| Hello, im new to the forum but not the game. I play recreational, every now and then. Ive seen tippmans be put through allot and still keep going, and i know they are very accurate. MY gun right now is not up to par. Its a 5 year old spyder victor, cheap gun, very very reliable, but very unaccurate. I noticed today that if i had a better gun, i could have made atleast 3 more kills, so im thinking of a tippman. Ive seen a 98 custom and shot one before, but i dont like them because of the single trigger. If you can recomend a good gun, one for woodball, and can do decent on speedball, id really appreciate it. Thanks. |

The 98C, A5, and X7 are all upgradeable to a double trigger. However, if you are looking at something that is walkable, none of these is probably your best bet. | The gun i have right cost 50$ is 05 and my ball holder snapped somehow on my last playing. So now balls fall right outa my barrel. Any other guns you would recomend? |

| Also, looking to buy one with a folding stock. I really like the looks of the X7, but if you guys think that another gun is truly better for my needs, ill forget it. And im not sure if i want an electronic trigger, or response trigger, because all my friends have guns with them, and they are all broken. It seems like everyone has non stop problems with any kind of electronic trigger. One of my friends has a RAP4 m16 looking gun, with like 1500$ into it and he literally can never get the thing running, literally, every time its fixed, it breaks nearly immediatly, so i dont want an over complicated gun. Anyways any info appreciated. |

At lot of people refer to it as cRap4. You shouldn't compare the reliability of it to anything made by Tippmann. X7's are nice markers, but if you want a high ROF, you will have to get either an E-grip or Response Trigger. | Hell i just noticed, with some of the stuff i was thinking of getting, its probably cheaper to get the X7 Phenom. The Phenom has an electronic trigger already right? The only reason the phenom would be more for me is because i would get a stock, which for some reason is 20$ more for the phenom. |

| I looked around online and, for the phenom with flatline and folding stock it came out to 547$ not including shipping and handling, would it be better to go to a store and buy these? Im kinda worried about a warranty. |

Tippmann honors the warranty wherever you buy it. I've actually had them offer to send me parts for free on markers I bought used. Their warranty is that good. I would buy the marker sans FL and stock personally. The FL does extend range, but loses a lot of accuracy in order to do so. The thing with the flat line is it adds great distance. Very true that with the distance you lose accuracy. but with another barrel you wont make the distance So if you hit a 4FT by 4FT target at 300+ FT with the flatline, to me thats great! is that perfect? no, but what is in paintball? besides, the Flatline will put a ball on target the closer you are to it, so can be said of all barrels, but can it be said that all barrels can hit a 4FT by 4FT target at 300+FT? I didnt think so.
and yes, the further the distance, the better chance of a ball not breaking, so can be said of ANY barrel. but can any barrel get that distance in the first place? I love my flatline. and with you take the time for that single shot as i do, then its great for you. If you you wanna spray and pray, maybe not.
With the flatline, if you turn or twist your marker, you can send the ball in different directions, which can be good if your used to it and expect it. its not great on consistncy. But the farrther away you are, the less consistancy you get anyways due to fluid dynimacs, wind sheer, gravity, heat/cold, ETC.
so really the barrel is all about your playing style. You cannot consistetlly hit a 4x4 target at 300ft with a Flatline. I had FL's on both my 98C and A5, and never did I have that type of accuracy. Flatlines are great for shooting through overhanging brush and for distance suppression fire, but it is not capable of spot on accuracy at 300ft. For that matter, not at 100ft+.

i was actually going to recomend the phenom as i read down. it has a new style that has alot less kick than the old style blow back used in most tippmanns. It also accept most of the upgrades for the x7. as far as barrels a few good ones that are inexpensive but excellent for the money are the Lapco BigShot and the J&J Ceramic. I use both depening on the gun of choice for the day and absolutely love both.
