So, my backup gun is giving me fits. It worked fine this summer, but the last game we had last month it was shooting air out of the tombstone area. I left it behind, and since I have a game this weekend, I remembered it was leaking and took it apart last night.

what I found was that after I took it all apart, the parts looked fine, I replaced all the orings anyway (since it was apart) and put it back together. I also oiled it up after putting it back together.

It still leaks, (though not as bad as before). I found that if I put pressure on the tombstone to force it to sit better it would stop leaking, so I put an oring on part of the bottom to force it to lean the direction where it reduced the loss of air.

Then I put a screw in the back of the little hook that holds the tombstone in place, which worked for this weekend as it hardly leaks at all now... But, that isn't a long term fix...

I assume the little plastic ring that the tombstone goes against is bad... But I have no idea where to get parts like that?...

Is that it, or is it something else?

How does the tombstone fit into the body?  I.e. is there play when it is held in place.  Stress at the tombstone area has been known to cause sufficient body damage that the tombstone no longer fit tight enough to seal.  I had a friend that dealt with the issue by putting a piece of electrical tape on the front of his tombstone adapter to force a tighter fit.  (He didn't want to spend the money on new body parts.)  That was several years ago and as far as I know he had no more problems.
