Tippmann has done it again, and put out another great, yet cheap, marker. When all said and done, this thing will shredd people all the same.

I chose this gun because it is able to be converted and manipulated heavily. It takes on a new stile AR- 15 look, but it also has the ability to transform into something completely different. You can easily bling it up to look like an original build. ( unlike the Alpha Black )

The cyclone unit is now upgraded by RAP4's Cyclone mod kit, Soon to have a response trigger which will come in the mail next week. I chose response over e- grip (which I have in the 98 featured in some of the pics) because taking an alan screw to change the settings which kinda blows. The Egrip for the phenom is godlike, but I really appreciate the fact that tippman created very effective mods without the use of # - batteries , which makes them rugged and durable. The only way they ever go down, is if you run out of air. (or you don't maintain your markers properly)

All and all, I can't wait for the build to be done. It will most likely be my main on the field.

Simply mods:

I took the army sticker off, and tinted the project salvo decal for a # - cleaner , and less flashy look.

  • Added the low-profile X7 hopper to it. It gives it a way cleaner look, is just as effective, and it actually covers and protects the tactical parts mounted underneath it on the right side.
  • The stock power tube and # - bolt have been replaced with a red-ano aluminum tube and Derlin bolt.
  • # - Stock hammer it tits; I like the kick of it. Gives it a mil-sim feel. May # - upgrade it, should I choose to upgrade the parts to ACT, later on. (can be found on the tippmann site under project salvo gun upgrades)

I picked it up from Amazon.com for stupid cheap.  Just type in AR 15 accessories. I mainly use it for display or maintenance reasons, hardly ever for tactical play.  It might be good for airsoft though.

Also, I put a 1-inch rise weaver rail underneath the shroud because when you fold the stock for CQB, its much more comfortable to grab it there. It also gives your hand to grip, free of all the tactical accessories you might choose to add on.  This, and it gives it a much different look from a regular AR, which was what I was shooting for.

the weight on the Salvos is very light with a full hopper and a remote line i would guess at less than 5lb. its a really light weight marker that is easy to move through the woods
