For one thing, we went around to a bunch of open-houses to see what various prices will get you in the current market. Then we went to the library where we picked up these (mine is on the left, Erin's is on the right): 
Then, we drove down to Woodlawn Planation to see FLW's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope-Leighey_House - Pope-Leighey House which was pretty sweet: 
After that, we went to Faccia de Luna and chowed down on some good Italian food and drank a few Stellas. Then it was home for a movie and a good night's sleep. In short, my weekend's culture > your weekend's culture ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

You bet your ass it is! My mom and dad cultured the heck out of me when I was a kid, and look how I turned out.... err... on second thought... Seriously though, when we have kids, they're going to be forced to go outside and play, and spend the weekends checking out the awesome local historical stuff. We live just 5mi from Mt. Vernon, 3mi from Woodlawn Plantation and the Pope-Leighey House, 12mi from the national mall, 10mi from Arlington National Cemetery, and 30mi or so from Manassas Battlefield. Not to mention all the kick-ass free museums around. I've already won the "how old is old enough to go shooting" argument, so that's another good step!  ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. My NEXT weekends culture will be better. Although, I'm not sure how much culture is involved with a bunch of drunk people watching an ALMS race for 12 hours in Sebring Florida.
