What just happened to me.... I was walking along the beach when I came across....

MY NEW AR15!!!!11!!one!!11!one+shift!1!

Sorry for the low quality, can't find muh camera.  I'll keep digging around for it, in case I update the thread when the new red dot comes in.

CMMG lower and upper, along with their 18" Chrome lined 1/7 barrel. I had originally ordered their 16" barrel, before I realized that the order page was a little sneaky, and that I had mistaken it for one that was actually Nitrided and 1/9th.  The chromed 1/7 16" was an extra 50, and I just couldn't justify that to myself.

Also, I went in for a job interview last night at a pharmacy my friend works at. She called me when she got off work to tell me that our boss has the hots for usafpilot07 and would "leave her husband for me."  Which is cool, cause she was pretty hot. Just thought you guys should know that my week > yours.

My troy sights come in tomorrow. Ill update my thread with real (not cellphone) pics. Want an ACOG, cant justify as much as i paid for the gun for optics haha. Probably go aimpoint when i feel like blowing a few hundred bones.

Also, will need some PMags when i get to FL, and a real collapsible stock. Cant wait to be out of NY jurisdiction hahaha.

When my new strikefire gets here, I'll let you know how it is.  Everything I've read about them sounds like they are taking the mid-range red dot sight market by storm.

Congrats! Is it a CMMG stock and barrel as well? I'm guessing you got a "keyhole" upper.

If you're worried about money go with a reflex or a holo sight over an ACOG I would spend as much on optics as a rifle, but not more, and IMO replace the pinned collapsible sock w/ a fixed A2, they may not look cool but unless you're wearing body armor, they're very ergonomic, dampen the vibration to your cheeckbone, and make a good club. I may finish my AK this week and if I don't like it I will mostly likely sell it and go with a Stag AR or build my own.

Had to be done outside, otherwise my phone's camera is no good. Figured I might as well put it up against what I'm driving right now while my car's engine is rebuilt.

I may go and plink around with it later this week, but nothing in depth until my scope gets back.  Busy week this week anyways, so it will just depend.

Is there really a big risk in posting a firearm serial? What could/ has happened in the past?

I'm actually curious, I've never even thought about that.

Well yeah, but couldn't I do that when someone posts their new paintball gun and shows the serial? Shouldn't he have order confirmations and receipts?

yep. the first thing the police will do is confiscate the firearm and then run the numbers on it to see if it were used in a crime.  It could take months before they sort it out if it does not come back with any bad paper attached to it. Then they would ask the parties involved for the paper work and sort it out from there.  And that would lead to an arrest. Sounds like a lot of BS but it does happen.

One of the guys on PbN, damcv56 I think, had a bunch of .22 rifles, including some NFA items, taken from him by a cop because a woman had complained that someone shot her house with a .22.  No matter that he was firing in the opposite direction at a berm, and far enough away that it was highly unlikely anyone in his party had fired the shot, or that they clearly heard gunfire from multiple directions while the cops were filling out the paperwork to take his guns.

At least, that was his story.  Not sure if he's gotten through with the whole ordeal yet, I haven't stopped in the PbN Firearms thread in a while.

The point is, when it comes to firearms, it's not really worth screwing around, because everything about them except using them is a pain in the butt.

Thought about an EOTech, but the strikefire fits my needs perfectly. Came with a screw on 2x doubler as well, which is a nice touch.  I like the collapsible stock, because I'd rather be able to keep it in a 36" case instead of a 42.  The fit is just a little to snug for my personal comfort at 36 without the stock collapsed.  All my experience with black rifles in my life have been collapsible stock, and that's just what I'm used to.

Hopefully I'll never have to club anyone with it anyways.  It's not my hallway hunter, so I have trouble imagining a scenario short of shtf that I could ever need to swing it.

I was referring to Niq's ban-state model. If I had a choice I'd go with your setup myself. I'm going to try to finish my Kalashni-club tomorrow.

As long as it's mil-spec it's all the same in my book, but i do have a soft spot for S&W. I was supposed to go to the factory this week, my grandfather and great grandfather have done some work for them, and I've inherited a S&W Model 36 snubby that was factory tuned with a wide, match trigger and fatter grips that is freakishly accurate for  snubby. I think the trigger does it. I swear it is not a mechanical trigger, but a telepathic one in single action. I'm guessing it's in the ounces, I would limit myself to DA(smooth and light) for any defensive situation. Beautiful gun, but I might change out the target grips in the future so ican use a speed-loader, I'm thinking crimson trace :D. I located great grandpa's other two holsters today, one for inside the pants CCW. Even w/o sppeed-loader capability, it beats my current CCW, which is a knife.
