Made the trip fine, had a great time at the race. Girlfriend earned a lot of beads during the nightly parties. Got to meet some of the pit crews, talked to some drivers, got to see the unveiling of the Corvette Carbon, and signed me and the girl up for a Skip Barber Racing school. Race was awesome, always impressed by the speed of the LMP cars, and the rumble of the Corvettes coming by is still amazing. Actually, I think she did pretty well with not having them shown while there were cameras around. The chances of someone having a picture are pretty good still, but anytime she saw a camera she dropped and covered, and said no pictures. I do HAVE pictures of them, but they're not from the race, so you won't get to see her impressive collection of beads. ------------- Skillet: I've never been terribly fond of the look of a vagina |

I'm about to pick one of you at random, and you get a picture. The rest of you get to enjoy pictures of the track and various cars. We passed through Auburn on the way down to pick up a friend, and Amanda is a huge Auburn fan, so she got random pictures of buildings there.  We watched part of the practice session for the 12 hour race on Friday, and were sitting at turn 5 getting pictures of them heading into turn 6.  The C6.Rs coming around the track were unmistakable. The 5.5L engine they're running now STILL has that crazy Corvette rumble, only without a muffler. I was probably 60 yards away from the track and could feel the ground shake as they passed by.  The Peugeot 908 HDI FAP Turbo-Diesels took 1st and 2nd, and were some of the quietest cars on the track. Considering it was a V12 I was really impressed.  Still at turn 5, she had to get a picture of us. We then walked through the open paddock and pit areas, looking for souvenirs to buy.  These passed by while we were in the paddock area, they're the Skip Barber Series cars we'll get some track time with if we sign up for the right classes when we do the Skip Barber school.  The SLR McLaren was parked among a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Lotus Elise, and a few other choice high-end sports cars. They were apparently doing drawings to win test drives in them. They pulled off as we were standing there watching, and they sounded absolutely awesome. I've got more pictures if anyone is interested. Some are on her camera and I haven't transferred them onto my computer yet. Overall it was a fun time, and if anyone is interested we'll be at Road Atlanta for the season closer in October! ------------- Skillet: I've never been terribly fond of the look of a vagina |

And i chased a black SLR about a month ago down in florida. He woulda burned me if he wanted to but he was cruising at like 80-90 and i was just following till we hit where we were going. Fun times. Side pipes sound awesome. ------------- ///AMG What? |

Unless he was that really rich guy with the Jaguar that Amanda got to sit in. Pictures have been distributed. I might pass more out later. I'm actually really impressed by the one who DID get the pictures. As far as I know he hasn't passed them out, and he's being a complete gentleman with them and not telling. NiQ, I do want to ask, if I'm offering them up willingly, how is that disrespecting her or me?
