I'm bewildered. Like, honestly bewildered. I have one exam left, but besides that my semester is done. I'm working two jobs at the moment, with my summer stint of full time work with the military beginning in June, but my free time is literally *mine* and unspoken for. I haven't been free of academic obligations since I was in Afghanistan, and now I'm looking at almost five months where not working literally means I've nothing to do but the basic mechanics of apartment living. Anyone got some whacky, off the wall, or interesting suggestions for how to occupy my time? I have some funds, but they are quite modest. The army reserves and home depot don't combine to a lavish lifestyle. But I don't want to just sit on my arse and get sucked into beer and video games. ------------- "Abortion is not "choice" in America. The get another job thing sounds like a good idea. Given the current economy, the chance to build a modest cash stash should probably be taken advantage of.

My 'cash stash' is fine and then some- I banked almost all of my tour pay. The issue is that I refuse to touch that; what I make is what I live off of. I'll be working pretty much full time with Home Depot between my exam on the 12th and when I start my military tasking in June. But even 44 - 50 hours of work a week leaves a lot of time... I already looked into some language lessons, but unfortunately nothing fits conveniently into the April-May timeframe. :( ------------- "Abortion is not "choice" in America. -Memorize all the dialogue from the lord of the rings trilogy (all extended editions).
-Get into graffiti (or some other kind of more socially acceptable art, but no one cares if you graffiti your own property... just sayin...) -Buy a mandolin and learn to play it. -Take up boating. -Go to the shooting range more to fine tune your warrior skills. -Learn to cook tons of different foods. Perfect the recipies you attempt. -Write a novel or a bunch of short stories. -Take up woodworking or metalworking. -Invent something awesome. That will also eat up a lot of money though. Of course, if you the car is sold afterwards, it could at least pay for itself but what fun is that? New plan: Go to a beach, pick up eight redheads, and puke on them. Make a getaway across Canada in my new (old) car and go to a strip club.
