Tippmann & Traumahead.com are hosting a new paintball show that will be available on both Dish Networks (channel 230) and DIRECT TV (channel 344) in the basic program packages which started last Friday (April 2, 2010) and every Friday night @ 10:30 PM ET.

I am wondering if anyone watched it and what they thought? I personally was excited to finally see paintball as a sport covered on TV, but was bored by the show!!! It seemed to lack any sense of connection with the viewers. The video was done well but it was just random videos of people playing paintball. I hope in future episodes Traumahead makes the show more personal. This could possibly be even a new reality TV show. I think it would be more interesting to follow a few teams (like 5-or-6) around showing the diversity in the sport. Maybe covering speedball and MilSim Scenario? This way viewers get connected with some players. I could see first time viewers watching the show out of interest but there is nothing in the show to draw them back. I think if the show remains the same as the first episode the only views this show will see will be the occasional paintballers who are in the videos. Don't get me wrong the idea is AWSOME, and Traumahead shots good video but the show lacks interest.

Thoughts from others who have watched it?

I didn't see it. Is it online yet?

I can't wait until someone does a show with helmet cams so that people can experience paintball first person. If every player had one, it would yield some amazing footage, and when edited could tell the story so much better than the typical static camera footage. I would still use static cameras, but mixed with perspective cams for most of the action.

Action cameras are cheap, and a good woodsball game where everyone was mic'd and helmet cammed would be sweet.

in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure it is extremely hard to get a good show actually going about paintball. It just looks like a lot of people shooting, then someone gets pulled out. Not enough central action to be entertaining to everyone watching.
