Had this argument this past weekend, need some support here. What drink is more limp-wrist style?
Strawberry daiquiris or pina coladas?

Daiquiris have "quir" in them for a reason.

As a native Floridian, both are kind of normal and non-stigmatized around here.
If you put enough booze in either, then neither of them are girlie.

If you put enough booze in either, then neither of them are girlie. | Agreed, I think it depends on the circumstances and other factors. If you're hanging out at a sleezy pool hall in the wrong part of town, ordering one of these may get you bounced out. If you're at the beach in bermudas and a tee shirt sitting at a Tiki Hut, I think any iced drink is pretty acceptable. Part of the appeal is that they are nice and cold. I would however, consider margarita's slightly more butch than than ones above.

Good advice.
Here's some more.
Whale . . . do not go into a bar in your Midwestern college town in a "Florida" (read--flowered) shirt and order either one. (At least not until you've established your manliness by drinking Coors and JD.)

| So far, I have seen more Bud/Budlight and Crown Royal in these parts, but agreed on the general message. Flipflops will most likely get you some looks as well as putting anything on your head that is not farm related, I.e. a John Deere hat. I have a closet full of "Florida" shirts that I essentially stopped wearing because I got sick of the comments, regardless of how friendly they were. Can't get rid of the flip flops though, you have to draw the line somewhere.

I'll drink a mean daquiri of margerita any day.

Garth Brooks ordered two pina coladas in a song, if that means anything, and a strawberry daquiri is pink. Need I say more?
I will partake in a pina colada on occasion, but if I'm drinking mixed, and it's not my normal whiskey sour, it's probably a margarita, but I'll only drink those is I'm mixing them for women. My margaritas are famous among my circle of friends. I have a secret ingredient I put in them, and the ladies love them.

| Sorry, you must have me mixed up with some other 42 year old fat guy that you sexed up. If that's what you're into, I'm sure you shouldnt have too much of a problem finding suitable partners that you don't have to drug. Start holding your pinky out when you drink, maybe they're just not getting the message that you're prowling......

I will drink a girlie drink if the girl can't finish it (and considering the girls are drink with, it's probably a gin and tonic at worst) and would actually have a margarita in some settings. Anything w/ too much sugar is disgusting. I may have a bloody mary if I'm hungover and it's before 11am.

You know what isn't a girly drink? A spicy thai mojito.
That drink will mess you up. And by mess you up I don't mean drunk, I just mean the spiciness.

The daquiri by far, at least where I'm from.
There are a few gender neutral mixed drinks if you want to drink them without being laughed at. Long Island iced teas, for instance.
Of course, I couldn't care less. I'll drink pretty much anything I'm in the mood for, be it a Jack and Coke or a daquiri.

Hmm, i never considered a mojito a girl drink, mainly because they taste so good.
But anyway, i was on the side of pina coladas being less feminine. Most of my friends said daiquiris. I fought them for a while then realized my drink was warming up and let them continue being wrong.
Maybe this weekend will be mojito and margarita weekend... Thanks for the ideas. <3

Both are girlie, Daquiries are more girlie. Margaritas are the only tropical-based drink which can be manly. Mojitos are for pussies who can't drink rum the way it was meant to be. From the bottle in the middle of a firefight at sea.
