No this thread isn't about the irony of someone's ford truck falling apart, unfortunately.

Have you guys seen this yet? I want one.

Old.

Its also useless as crap. Sure it would be fun to drive and abuse, but it is wicked impractical. Plus its horrible on the road.

Also, it is a waste of money unless you are offroading in anything flat. It would climb hills great, but when you are spending $50k, you can buy an older F150/Bronco/Blazer/K15 etc with a solid front axle.

Independent front=ftl.

Edit:
Raptor is full of E-Peen.

Theres 2 of them in/around my city. I must say that they are sexy. One is the usual orange, but the other one is a wierd powder blue color.

Looks like a great zombie apocalypse vehicle.

Too bad reality just isn't exciting enough to justify the purchase.

$40k base?

Wow.  The only reason I'll ever even spend that much on a car is because of inflation.

I think you're missing the point. It's a factory-built, warrantied long travel desert race-type truck on 35's, not a crawler. A solid front axle no doubt rules for crawling, but IFS rules the high-speed washboard as well as the part right after the truck's airborne.

I think more worthy of discussion is the 2011 Super Duties. The 6.7l should be righteous, but no more manual transmissions. Wonder if it'll hurt their sales enough to find a way to put a third pedal in.

Meh, I don't like the looks. Also, what are the chances that more than 1-2% of the people who purchase this thing will ever drive it on terrain more intense than their local mall parking lot?

Also, I don't think many heavy duty pickups can be ordered in manual transmissions anymore. Quite frankly, the heavy duty automatic transmissions that they install these days are better...better equipped to handle the horsepower and torque of diesel and big gas engines.

If the humongous FORD across the front grill weren't there, or at least MUCH smaller, the front end might not look horrendous.  As is, I wouldn't give it a second glance.

As of 2010, Dodge and Ford both offer manuals behind diesels. And it's certainly hard to quanitfy 'better' between the apples and oranges that are automatics and manuals. Personally, I think that the people who prefer to tow with a manual have more to base their preferences on than people who prefer manuals in sports cars.

I like it, but I would never do to a new car that I just spent 40k on what that truck is designed to do.
