I talked about this last night in the chatroom, I figure I'll announce it here too. I will soon be launching a weekly Podcast with my best friend and soon-to-be roommate Ashley. The idea came from a series of things:
So yeah, we already have the stuff we need: Two basic USB mics, a webcam, a UStream account and Audacity download and we're making a website on a basic Wordpress template. The title of the Podcast is going to be "This is a Podcast," because we both love literal humor. We're not sure about times of the week yet, but the goal is to copy another local Podcasters plan, which is to do the show "live," on U-Stream and then edit/post it later using Audacity. That way we can take calls via Skype and have people share their own crazy stories and thoughts on the nonsensical things we talk about. That is where you come in. Once we get everything up and running (As in once I bother to sign up for a dedicated Skype line) I'll announce the number here so you all can listen and call in if you want to. If people actually listen, it'll be cool. If not, I'm out the cost of a Skype line. Oh well. I'm excited that this is actually coming to fruition. |

Best/worsts are a main topic for us. As is opposites. I said this one in the chat last night: There are a certain number of foods associated as being "Sexy foods," for certain reasons. Honey, whipped cream, strawberries, etc. What is the exact opposite of those? My contribution: Lukewarm Hot-Pocket filling. My friend said either mayonnaise or Cheez Wiz.

The first one will just be pre recorded so we can figure out the wizard box and the software. From then on it'll be live on U-Stream or Justin TV and we'll take calls via Skype. It'll probably be on Thursday evenings.

I dont recall which episode it was, but there was an episode of Audiocrush that didn't actually air because they wound up just getting way too drunk. Someone wandered off to do their own thing, another started playing guitar, etc. It's actually pretty funny to listen to, they put it on their site eventually. |

Sorry to everyone who is waiting. We're trying to get the first Podcast uploaded and working. IF everything gets figured out we will do the second one live on Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. If not, we're going to have to go with doing a recorded version now.

Yeah it's bad on purpose. I did it in a hurry when I was trying to make it THE and not A Podcast. It's supposed to look sort of slapdash and funny. The banner looks much better IMHO now that my girlfriend redesigned it. Oh, and the first Podcast is now up. This Is The Podcast Episode One is hosted over on the website. Warning though, it has adult language spoken by adults. It's also really scattered because we had people coming and going and myriad equipment failures. But hey, enjoy please! |
