I bought a Wii. I bought a Wii when it first came out (probably here on the forum some where if I dug hard enough), sold it soon after. Played maybe a couple of games on it.

So  I gave it another shot this week. Picked up a refurb Wii from Gamestop for 120, along with some HD (haw haw) cables, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I took a shot at Metroid first, because I rather enjoyed Prime on the GC. Can't say I'm thoroughly impressed, gameplay is good, but the whole game feels kind of lifeless and bland.

Galaxy 2 on the other hand is fantastic. I got some play time in between working on the truck, amazing stuff so far. Probably the most impressed I've been with a platforming game since Mario 64. In fact, I'd say it's better.

So, any forum Wii owners, if you have gaming suggestions shoot for it. I'm probably going to pick up the original Galaxy at some point in the future, along with Red Steel 2.

I play mario kart quite often... even though I beat the game in every level already. It is so fun and online it is always challenging. "Mr. Nerd" is my moniker online.

Both Mario Galaxy games are amazingly fun. Also, really really difficult, but not in a bad designed way, just in a way that is addicting.

Twilight Princess is a Zelda game and probably one of the better ones.

I was actually kind of disappoitned in TP. Never seemed to live up to Ocarina, though I guess it was better than Majora's and Windwaker. Though, to be fair, I never finished Windwaker.

I got Twilight Princess for Game Cube.

I want to play Zelda with a controller, but I don't think that will be an option in the new Zelda.

I hate Wiis, I think there garbage.

My wife and I have tried to play everything, and I get so fed up. The last game I tried was mario galaxy 2, and the waggle and pointing is so frusterating. I dont want to point at the dam screen for yoshi to use his tougne or shake the remote when I need to spin. The 2 games I can stand on the wii are mario cart and smash bros cuz you can use GC control on them.

I dont hate motion controls, I just hate broken lame motion crontol that is the wii.

Have you checked all of your hardware to make sure it's functioning correctly? Galaxy 2 has spotless controls in my experience, and I'm no Wii lover myself.

On a side note, I've rediscovered my love of Mario World via laptop and an Xbox controller. I'd forgotten how easy it is to lose several hours in that game. I think I'll go for some Super Mario All Stars tonight Big smile

I recall hearing that Monster Hunter (the newest) was tight.

Just bought it the other day with a Classic Pro. Seems fun, but I haven't had a chance to get into it yet. My only gripe is that on a few TV types (my Samsung 42" included, apparently) the game is displayed in a really strange resolution that creates black bars on either side of the screen. I've been all through my TV settings, including stretching, and there's no way to get rid of them. I've gotten mildly used to it, but it distorts what's an otherwise pretty amazing looking game.
