Alright. Got a few problems here guys. Just went to a d day game yesterday. Brought my gun that's upgraded and whatnot. Using CO2 i have had no problems, but when using an HPA rental tank, my marker stopped working properly. With my response trigger and hair pin trigger, I could easily lock in the sweet spot. Yesterday, I'd shoot about 6 shots, and the gun wouldn't recock itself, or it would go into that mode where it just rapid fires without shooting anything. It was basicallly acting as if it was out of air. I took it to the guys at the desk and the first guy thought it might be something to do with my remote line. That didn't seem to be true at all. I couldn't hear any leaks at all. I was wondering if their wasn't enough air going into the gun to make everything work at once. Between the gun, the cyclone, and the response trigger, that's a good amount of air usage. The guy at the desk said that wasn't it, but I don't think he knew a whole lot. Any insight or suggestions you guys have would be great. I plan on taking it apart soon to check the o rings and seals.

Next topic. My TPX does not seem to be working well. It's chopping a lot of balls in the breach area, which is a giant pain in the ass. Anyone know why this is happening? It's really pissing me off. Makes having the sidearm pointless if its gonna keep breaking every time.

Any help you guys can offer would be great.

Oh and P.S.  At this game i was at my friend brought a splatmaster original. I used it a few times, and at one point my team mate went in with akimbo pistols. My TPX and the splatmaster. He even took off all his gear except for a muscle shirt and his pants. It was pretty awesome.

Was the HPA rental tank High Pressure or Low Pressure? Sounds like it could have had an LP regulator on it and it was starving the marker.  Did you try taking the remote off and running tank on the marker? This would have been an easy way to tell if the remote line was the issue.

TPX: are you using the new 7rd True Feed Magazines or the Standard 8rd Magazines. Second what where the weather conditions. I played all day Sunday under the constant Drizzle to light rain. My TPX did not chop at the Breech. What is your TPX chronoed at? Has your TPX been Upgraded?

On the 98 sounds like a Low Pressure tank.

first off, i checked the marker. no noticeable problems with any of the o rings. everything seems to be working properly. i did notice a wet spot on the top left side of the powertube, if that has any significance at all.

i also cleaned out my TPX after the breaks i had in it, which is a huge pain in the ass. though i do enjoy it sometimes.

oldpbnoob, i'm not sure if it was high pressure or not. it was a rental tank that they usually use on the 98 rentals. i believe it was this one.  http://www.amazon.com/Basic-48ci-3000PSI-Paintball-NITRO/dp/B0015ZTX7U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1282612695&sr=8-1 - http://www.amazon.com/Basic-48ci-3000PSI-Paintball-NITRO/dp/B0015ZTX7U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1282612695&sr=8-1

no, i didn't try it without the tank. i didn't want to make my friends wait for me any longer so i grabbed a rental and hopped on the next boat. i'll try it tomorrow with my CO2 tank and see what happens.

as for the magazine, its the 8 ball. it chronoed at about....280 yesterday i think, and it has not been upgraded at all. i shot it today in my backyard after cleaning it, and had no breaks with two magazines. it was hot out, but the paint was fresh, and had a good thick shell. i heard somewhere once that tippmann had a second generation breech for the TPX or something? Not sure if this is true at all. I'm gonna call Tippmann Tech tomorrow and see what they say. They always tend to help in any way they can and then some.

I'll still take all the advice i can get though.

Gotta love the guys at Tippmann Tech. He agreed with the low pressure tank idea, and recommended getting my hands on a high pressure tank to see if it makes the difference.

as far as the TPX though, he said it could be the 8 ball magazines, and is sending me a pair of the tru feed magazines for free. best customer service in the world. they're the reason i'll always buy tippmann when i can.

i did have another question though. when i shoot really fast on my 98 sometimes, the gun will cock itself, but won't shoot, and i have to pull it all the way to the back. is that the sear catching on the back of the trigger?

Sometimes you get this effect if the gun needs a good clean and lube, or the rear reciever half bolts are cranked down way too tight. It's usually an issue of too much friction on the rear bolt so it stalls out before it can cock back all the way.

I'd just use it as an excuse to break the gun down to the reciever halves, get some steel wool and metal polish, and polish up the halves where the bolts slide. It's a decent home mod to do anyway.
