Tippmann is pleased to announce to our loyal fans that we are expanding the hot selling X7 Phenom platform with the introduction of a mechanical-only version, as well as several new wider tactical-style magazines, including a new M16, G36 and AK-47. The new mechanical-only X7 Phenom is designed for those players who may not have the n...eed or desire to use electronics, as well as those who may simply want to invest in electronics later, but want the benefits of the marker's FlexValve technology. To watch Denny Tippmann, Jr. talk about the new marker and accessories, check out this video at http://bit.ly/X7PhenomMechanical. There will be much more news on this introduction coming soon, but until then you can go to http://bit.ly/X7PhenomMech_FB or contact your local paintball dealer. Although we have begun shipping these new items, quantities are limited so we encourage you to contact your dealer to get your orders in now.

Is there a price reduction because it is mechanical only?

In the broad spectrum of bad ideas I think this would have to rate somewhere between running with scissors and sticking your pecker in the toaster.

The price for the stock mechanical X7 Phenom that I've seen is $299. I have no idea about the new gussied up versions, or if they will come in mechanical versions or not.

Personally, I'm still waiting for the "not a real gun" edition.

If they did that, it would be a different thing entirely. I just with they would make an A-5 Phenom, or a carver one style.
