snake6, Oh, hah, you meant this thread....
We will see how it does on its own staying up on the front page.
Man, this would be awesome to go to but for me it isnt going to happen.
For those that saw this thread locked for a second, I apologizes, it was an accident. For some reason my phone caused me to press the wrong button. I meant to sticky the thread.
I opted to sticky the thread for now until the event since there is some legit interest, plus snake was nice enough to ask for peermisssion, first. Enjoy, folks.
The sticky czar can overrule me if he so chooses.

I can't believe that all you kooks are going to a rally. Blinded by some calling, or political belief, weighing in on a far corner of politics, the hyprocracy of it all. Too many of you are falling for the Comedy (there is a metaphor)Channels slant on real news, again the hyprocracy. Next you will be carrying signs and pretending you are a real political force, the insanity of having a belief or faith in anything anymore.
It shows again the hyprocracy here, Glenn Beck entertainer=nutjob, Comedy Centrals nutjobs are meaningfull. Jeeze what has America come to.

Wait... I'm sorry, does OS think that any of us are going to see this for a political reason? Because I'm simply going due to the fact that it'll be a chance to see John Stewart and Stephen Colbert in person. The only message that will be sent is that those two comedy goldmines have larger audiences than any of the politically motivated whack-jobs on either side of the cable news aisle.
I can't tell you how many times John Stewart has reminded the nation that he's not a news anchor and that the Daily Show is a parody. If you think any of us take what we see there seriously, then you've proven yourself to be the exact kind of nutjob you were just preaching against in your post. Talk about hypocrisy.....
Oh, and Snake. If you didn't see the earlier post, I'm not going to have a restaurant that will be open by the 30th. I'll be getting ready to open my new one which is 45min from DC.

No I know it is not for political reasons, but if I mentioned I was going to the Beck event your conclusions would have been?

The difference is that Beck is completely serious. Stewart and Colbert are satire.

USAF went to see the Beck/Palin rally, but I don't think he's a nut job (well, not for that reason at least...) However, he refrains from spewing the rhetoric that you do. See, people's opinions of others are often formed from a mishmash of factors. If person A spews anti-obama, anti-bailout, pro-Palin rhetoric which mirrors that of Beck or O'Reilly and also attends a Beck rally, then yes, I'd assume that he was fringe right. If someone simply went to the Beck rally without spewing such rhetoric, then no, I would not assume that he was a right-wing nut job. The same can be said of any situation. Do you have people who are anti-Republican, anti-war, pro-Obama, "where's my free money" whack jobs attending anti-war rallies and whatnot? Yes, and because of the combined stances they have, can you rightfully assume that they are on the fringe left? Of course. But can you assume that anyone attending an anti-war rally is a fringe-left nut-case? No. They may simply not want our country involved in a war.
So, the lesson here is that if you paint with too broad a brush, of course the results will be slanted, but if you take into account the multiple actions a person takes, and the beliefs that they hold, you can narrow the picture down much further.

Anyone from D.C. or Maryland know where me and my friends will be able to easily take a bus/train/subway into D.C. since we don't want to have to deal with actually driving into D.C during the rallies. We're just looking to drive to a town around D.C. and take public transportation from there.

I should be there. Booking a hotel now. Unless **edited** hit sthe fan tonight, we should be good. I figure best bet is to meet at a metro station on Saturday. I will wear my PBC T-shirt or a brown fleece for easy recognition. I figure the best place to meet at will be the Federal Triangle stop at about 1100. We can figure out what to do from there. I will be going up friday night after work so if you guys are going to be up there and want to hit the bars PM me tonight or tomorrow before 2000, and we will arrange a meet point and swap cell phone numbers.

My phone was near dead so I wasn't able to take photos. Sucks because I wanted a picture of a kid with the sign "The Game: You just lost it", as well as a handful of other ones that had me laughing aloud.
But the rally was amazing. The only downer was my friend had me waiting 30mins for him at his house so we got to the Huffington Post Buses much later then I had hoped for. This made it so we were on the last buses out and we didn't get to the rally until about 2pm. But I did manage to get a great view of the last hour in front of one of the giant TVs and speakers forward from the main stage.
