Yeah, thats why its good for reading. Drowns out the background, no lyrics to be distracted by, relaxing. It's usually this or something like Bonobo if I'm working. If I just have to create something, Wolfgang Gartner has been my friend lately

Frog Man, if you want to embed a YouTube vid, just do [+TUBE+] without the '+' signs before the address of the vid,  and [+/TUBE+] after, also without the '+' signs. Just like quoting, with 'TUBE' instead of 'QUOTE'.

Also worth listening to-

Oh yeah, playing Minecraft to Ludovico Einaudi is very win as well. You will 100% forget that it's not the actual game music.

For example, play to this:

It just fits perfectly for some reason.

Yes! The Keys. Alot of fun to see live, though I'd like to see them in a smaller, more intimate surrounding to better appreciate their sound. Not really exciting enough for arena presence though.

Ocean Planet - Gojira. The riff on this one is almost the perfect balance of guitar and percussion. It just punches you right in the gut...

As a matter of fact, I like pretty much all Gojira. <3 Gojira.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I've been listening to a lot of Black Keys and similar garage blues.

I think Tallen posted Mumford a few weeks back, I've been listening to them since then, awesome music.

A few recent songs:

Cant post eminem and elton john singing stan at the grammies, for fairly obvious reasons.

Seasick Steve is really one of the coolest blues acts out there right now. It's that blues that you crank up when you're in a good mood, and it has a great gimmic on top of that.

I've been listening to a lot of house music lately.

Particularly dubstep like Rusko. The problem is finding good dubstep that is still upbeat without being super grimey sounding.

So far I've found Caspa, Skream, and Diplo.

I've been listening to more dubstep recently as well, but generally I prefer trance. I don't know that many techno enthusiasts though, so it's not always easy hearing about new artists. I do like the 2 dubstep songs posted on page 1 though, i need to YouTube the artists.

Trance is just so . . . bleh.

I like my house music to be lively and jammable, which spell check says is not a word.

It's generally not something I listen to for artistic musical merit. It's fun, gets me pumped up and energized, that in and of itself makes it worth listening to, imo.

Sucks for you.

Hey Whale, if you dig some Skream tracks check out Benga.

Also, look into the rest of the Dub Police if you like Caspa and Rusko. The Others are my favorite act from Dub Police.

And something that isn't dubstep, for Tical.

Hm. Not a fan. In the metal world, it's very hard to find a female's voice that really works. I'm not talking about grunting/growling/etc., but just overall power. It just seems the instrumentals don't mesh with the vocals.

Here's an example of a female 80's metal band that I quite like. I think it's a good balance of instrumental and vocal:

Last song before the encore I believe. BEST was when Doug played some solo stuff and Car, as well as Broken Chairs at the end. Nothing better than a 9+ minute song ending a concert.

MF Doom is ridiculous.

DOOM is one of my favorites. Anyone listen to his instrumental albums released under two of his many names Metal Face Terrorists and Metal Fingers? Hidden Herbs and Special Herbs, respectively.

A friend found his old CD of Special Herbs Vol. 1&2 so I could scan the artwork. MF DOOM took the time to describe each herb he used as the title of a beat. Hopefully my buddy finds the other 5 albums.
