So a little while ago, facebook exploded on me. My hometown is under lock down right now. The scuttlebutt and conjecture is that there's a few kids holed up in an apartment with stolen guns and possible hostages. The one name that was dropped was a little disheartening. #1 suspect is a kid I was on the fire department with. He was always a bit rough around the edges, and sort of stupid, but I always got along with him. My brother, dating the daughter of one of the local cops informed me that a SWAT team is on the way. Its a tiny little town in the Catskills that's not seen this much excitement since the glaciers receded. ------------- ? |

This thing has been going on since 3pm, and there are still frustratingly few details released. From what I understand, based on the scant news reports- This moron and a few of his friends committed an armed robbery in another town yesterday, making off with a safe and a few guns. They get tracked back to Windham, where they hole up in a girlfriend's apartment. I know the place too, its a pretty defensive location. The only entrance is up an exterior set of stairs, and there are only a few small windows. They could be there all night, easily. ------------- ? |

Sounds like this situation is in need of C-4. ....Also it isnt six stars till the national guard and tanks show up. Sounds like it is only 5 stars. |

Their best bet is to steal a tank. They could easily go for days if they turn the turret backwards and continue firing until they lose the helicopters. -------------

all subjects arrested peacefully. 9 hours. it shut the whole town down, and they arrested 4 people. Details are still coming in, but it was pretty tense in a small town like ours. ------------- ? |
