I'm in the market to replace my poor 8800 GT. It did it's thing, but it doesn't seem able to keep up any more.

What is there that is decently spec'ed for a decent price these days?

Should I get a current mid range, or get a slightly dated ex top end?

Currently running XP but with the card I'll be getting 7.

I'd look at a Radeon 5700 series. It really comes down to price range, and whether you want new or used, though.
