I've replaced almost every part of the A-5 and still haven't had luck.  The problem continues to be that the gun will not recock.  I've done the following in order to try and troubleshoot:

  • used a full tank of co2
  • replaced and lubed ALL o-rings - even the ones in the valve
  • replaced the sear, hammer, and front bolt
  • checked the ball detent
  • replaced the battery in the e-grip
  • reassembled the gun at least 10x
I've done some research but I don't know what else to do.  My only thought is that it might be a weak drive spring?  However, I think mine is actually fairly new as I bought a parts kit not too long ago.  What should be the length of this spring? Any way to check and see if it's providing enough tension?

The gun is not missing any parts and nothing is broken.  I've spent so much money trying to get the A-5 to work and still have no luck.  Ideas are much appreciated.

Do you have a stock on your A5?  Sometimes the hole that the drive spring goes into on the stock is to deep so there is not enough tension on the drive spring for it to recock.  If this is the problem you can put a BB or ball-bearing into the hole.  Try putting the original lower receiver back onto the gun and see what happens.
