So is anyone here a cigar smoker? I've recently started and had a few and I like it.
Just curious that if anyone here enjoys them as well.
Any ideas on some decent handmade one that you can get on a short budget?

They tend to make me sick, but my friend really likes cigars.

Try this one:

I've only tried about 3. I don't remember what brand they were, but they were pretty sweet. From the Domincan Republic.

I'm open to trying new ones.

Mild medium or full bodied?

I don't bother with cigars. As a cigarette smoker I can't get used to not inhaling. The result is me looking like and idiot when I attempt to smoke one with any kind of suave as my face contorts while fighting the urge to smoke it properly. That and me coughing all over everyone when I fail.

I'm a big fan of the occasional fine and delectable Black N' Mild.

With subtle hints of pipe tobacco and the mellow velvet body of slight vanilla.

I prefer to casually puff on one on the porch while sipping a 2011 Busch. I find the grainy front notes and slight bitter bite at the end really accentuates the woody mellowness of the Black N' Mild.

You see, I'm a man of high class.

I smoke brazilians. They come in a green/yelloe/blue tube, pretty good for the price (about $15/each). Other than that im normaly smoking Marlbro red 100's.

I'm a pipe tobacco fan. I've got a few nice briar pipes* and a few nice blends from a tobacconist 600 miles away(...). I've been meaning to pick up a nice meerschaum pipe.

However, I do enjoy a cigar from time to time. I prefer the milder tobaccos, but I managed to secure a nice Cuban. I'm not quite an aficionado, but it was a very enjoyable smoke. Personally, I prefer Romeo y Julietas and, for something a bit more flavored, Acids.

*My favorite being a smooth billiard Peterson System with a straight stem, army mount and P-Lip. Terrific on-the-go pipe! :)

Cubans, when I'm somewhere were commie cigars are legal of course....

But I do occasionally go for black and milds, only the wood-tips mind you. I've been attempting to quit chewing tobacco, Skoal Snus is as close as I've come to that goal. Nicotine gum is next.

there is a website that I go to regularly for cigars. Great deals, I got my Humidor for $60 and it normally goes for $180. Thompson Cigars is a great place and they have an Auction website.

I just had a Rocky Patel 90. It was good, but for some reason i got pretty wooxy ( i did know some cigars can do that) and then i got real sick, and puked right after. My brother, who is a pretty avid cigar smoker said it was because i inhaled, but i'm pretty sure i didnt.
Any thoughts on why?

You smoked it too fast. If you smoke too fast (they should last around an hour, depending on size), you will get dizzy and nauseated. Happened to me on my first smoke as well.

Branded by Ashton and made in Nicaragua by Jose "Don-Pepin" Garcia who came from the actual Cuban houses of Cohiba, Partagas, and Montecristo.

What's more, they're dirt cheap and fantastic smokes. We're talking $2-$4 depending on where you get them.

You're probably right. I did it in about 30 or 40 minutes.

Jeez Tallen, where at do you get those? I'm all for cheap smokes. I just want something a little bit more quality than the swisher sweets but i dont wanna be payin $10 for one smoke except for special occasions.

Anyone who carries Ashton should carry those. Just ask around your local smoke shops.

hey guys first post so here it goes.

cigars are my thing. as a bodybuilder i choose not to smoke cigarette. they gross period. i love me some tabbacco tho. first off i i smoke swisher sweets outlaws and backwoods. they are deliciuse and a very good quick smoke. and i also love REAL cigars . if ur on a budget i highly suggest PUNCH. they are the second oldest brand in production. and very well made.

in regards to cubans, they are not illegal to buy for personal use. but u can only find them online. if u can find them at a store they are fake or "in the back room".

Because they aren't legal, at all, no matter what they are for or how you got them.  The only way they are legal is if they were already here before the embargo.  If you are American, it is also illegal to buy or smoke them outside of the U.S.

From page one, fella.

Also, I was at a local tobacco shop that was selling Cuban Cohibas. I asked about the embargo, and the salesman said that if you are a Cuban or half Cuban (???), you can legally bring two boxes of Cubans back with you over the border. I have a fair amount of skepticism, and that seems like a very convoluted loophole, but they were just selling them out in the open. Mayhaps fakes?

Yay, fakes! I'll have to go back to the shop and check 'em out. Also, the "we can bring a few back with us if we are Cuban" thing is bull-ploppies as well.

The "Cuban" I had procured turned out to be a fake as well. The counterfeiters were even bold enough to try to pass it off as a "2010 Edicion Limitada." Unfortunately at the time I had obtained said cigars, I was unaware that there was no such thing as a special release Cohiba in 2010. Also, it's fake band (albeit decently done).

I also managed to procure an alleged Cuban Montecristo. I'm still researching this one. My hopes are not high, but the band does look at least well done.
