Can you narrow down where on the gun it's coming from?

Sounds like a bad seal at the power tube.  Does your hose screw into the power tube or is it pressure fit?

So it's a 98 Custom Platinum. Well, I'd make sure of a few things.

Check the area where the hose and valve meet, make sure there's no dirt or grime or anything on there.

Check to make sure you've got the valve and hose lined up good when you tighten it down. If the valve is rotated or cockeyed somehow you might end up with a bad seal.

Put some Teflon tape around the hose threads, that should solve your air leak if that is where it is coming from.

As determined earlier in this thread the marker is a newer one (Platinum series) which uses a pressure fit system . . . there are no hose threads going into the valve.
