As requested in a previous vote, the map and plugins for the Tippmann Minecraft Server have been set up, and the server is online. Address to connect in Minecraft: shenko.dyndns.org Map in your web browser: http://shenko.dyndns.org:8080 - http://shenko.dyndns.org:8080 As usual, the server has 3 rules. Follow them or die. 1: Don't break other peoples crap. 2: You break it accidently, you fix it. 3: Don't be a dick. The players wanted to play on the Gargamel map with server economy mods. So here's the list and some command help. - iConomy support, you get money from accomplishing things. You can purchase items from stores. You lose money when you get yourself killed. - Item shops are going up around the spawn area. They look like a half-block with a floating item above them. Left click on the block and your chat window will guide you on how to buy the item. The "Official" shops around the spawn are all unlimited stock and sell things like tools, food, items, and building materials. - You get paid a bounty for killing monsters. You get more money if you kill them at night, so go hunting. - You get paid a small income every 15 minutes of online time based on your activity. If you've been busy building stuff, fighting, running around you get more than if you're standing around like a bum. - You can create your own shops to sell excess items you have laying around. Tutorial on how to do this below. - The warp system has been disabled. Your only "Fast travel" commands are /sethome and /home to warp back to your set location. You can also use /spawn at any time to return to the map spawnpoint. - Monsters are enabled but creepers will explode without damaging terrain. And a handy command list: - /spawn: Returns you to the map spawn point - /sethome: Sets your current location as your home. You should respawn here when killed. - /home: Returns you to your set home location. - /money: Shows your cash balance. - /money <player>: Shows someone elses cash balance. - /money top: Shows the top 5 richest players. A short tutorial on setting up a "shop" block: You need 1 halfblock (Stone slab), and the item or item stack you want to sell. Place the halfblock where you want the shop. Hold shift to sneak and right-click the halfblock with the item to be sold in your hand. Follow the instructions in the chat window, you will be asked to set a price for the item. Any other player can left click the finished block to buy the items. To remove your shop block, hold shift and right click it again. More to be posted later if I forgot anything. -------------

Great work, as always, enos. Sorry the dedicated server plan has not come through in the time I originally speculated. Still waiting for approval from the boss to put a box in one of the racks at our data center. Technically we still need to purchase a used server but I'm not throwing money down on that until I know for certain that it will be allowed. -------------

We encourage you to please build your houses in the valley, between the shops and the station. There are paths and signs, and you can see my house jutting out from the cliff face as a reference point.
I've got a music store and food store set up around the water as well. This one seems awesome, and having everyone building near one another is nice. I WANT to play tonight but my laptop will be rendering footage all night |

Who built the truly awful deck on the cliff near Whale's place? It's up in the middle of nowhere, isn't connected to anything, has a random hole in it, and I can't figure out what it's for. A great deal of progress has been made on the city walls. The segment from the lighthouse, around clockwise about a quarter of the way is complete. The rest of the way clockwise to the city gate is up to height, with the walkway built on. Between the city gate and the lighthouse nothing has been added other than the first layer outline. Someone turned it from sandstone to cobblestone- was that you? Also, mind if more stuff is built onto/into the gate? I have ideas for it now that it links to the wall. I was wondering that too, I was going for a smaller brandenburg gate vibe originally with the sandstone colour, but I guess if it matches the actual city wall more. I could change it to actual stone too I guess, I think that might look better. And yeah, what do you have in mind? I want to make the gate more ornamental or something but I'm not sure how. Maybe some sort of statue on the top or something. If you have ideas on how to make it more legit, go for it. |

I was thinking of making an actual gate grille using multiple layers of fences (I'll put a door in close by), and maybe making the top of it accessible from the ramparts. And I checked the other houses in the area, Brihard and Ammo both look good, no traps. I lost all my carried inventory when SSOK's house blew. There looked to be about eight TNT landmines in his house, and when the first one killed me, I guess the chest I left behind was destroyed when the others went off. Thanks for the tool set and glowstone from Choop. I set up the glowstone in SSOK's now-basement to keep mob out until he can go in and fix it.

Out in the area beyond the beach/cake, there is a field full of pressure plates with a sign "Find the right tile, win a prize." A huge crater is near it, so I'm assuming whoever put them there set one off already. Also, the thing made from mossy cobble - or dungeon stone or whatever - is partially destroyed. It was boobytrapped with TNT and TheGuy blew it up while trying to secure it. |

SSOK won't be fixing his house. I tossed him in jail when he dumped lava all over the place and lit a bunch of stuff on fire. He took it badly and said he wouldn't be back. Perusing the server logs I noticed Theguy using the item command to summon TNT and pressure plates before everyone got land-mined. Guess who no longer has access to that command? Seriously. What is so difficult about the ONE rule the server has? Don't break other people's stuff. Simple. -------------

I've cleared the train tracks of abandoned mine cars, but the last few times I've tried to summon a new one for "The tour" one would not load. I had the same issue. I found a stack of carts jamming the rails in the mechanism and cleared them, but I think there's one lodged somewhere just before the departure rail, where we can't get access to it without chopping blocks.I'm not touching that one. ------------- "Abortion is not "choice" in America. Yeah, just a warning, if you plan to play on the Tippmann server do not update your game yet. I'm waiting to hear back from enos about when it will be updated, or if it has been already. I am at work and cannot connect to the server from here, else I would have more info. Maybe they could get to work on the modding api so server mods don't break on every friggin' update. A quick update about the update. The server will remain 1.6 until Bukkit mod is updated to 1.7. This means if you wish to continue playing on the Tippmann server you should not let the Minecraft client update when you start it. Whale mentioned in chat that if you play in-browser the game will auto-update on you. You're SOL if you do not use the client. Sorry about that, go cry to Notch. -------------

Yeah, enos just updated the server. That was the fastest Bukkit update I've ever seen. Normally they take at least a week to fix code after a major game update.

After the update you have to use either a powered red-stone wire or some kind of fire to ignite TNT bricks. You can't just smack them anymore.

I would say so if it is just 1.7.x. 1.7.3 is the latest I've seen and it is just a bunch of bug fixes. 1.8, which I do not think has been released, would keep you from joining. -------------
