I hate people sometimes, especially when it involves small children/babies. The instance where the mother in Dayton put her newborn in a microwave and one recently where a childs hands were put in boiling water to teach her a lesson for having an accident come to mind. The arresting officers should be awarded medals for having the ability to restrain themselves from having a blanket party with these individuals in a dark alley. Makes it glaringly obvious that I was not really cut out for a job in law enforcement as I probably would have been convicted of pulling my weapon out and just putting a bullet or 8 into these crap filled skin sacks.
The truly sad part of all of this is that little can really be done to solve the issue. As a school employee, one of my wifes biggest issues is seeing day in and day out kids that are neglected and/or abused. It's heartbreaking watching a child with hope and dreams eventually get beaten down. I was talking to a recently retired principle of the local school one day about why he didn't accept a retire rehire position. Simply put, he said he couldn't take it anymore. Even in our small community we have all sorts of horrifying situations. In one case we have a little girl who was taken from her crackhead mother because the mother at best was allowing nude pictures to be taken of the child and and worst....... Little girl is now developmentally off, they say they suspect she had a mental break of some sort. We have one situation where a girl in middle school is suspected of being pimped out by her mother. It is truly horrifying at times as to how low humans are capable of sinking.
Essentially, it is a vicious cycle. Quite depressing.
Might have to start drinking at noon today.
