Haha yeah Enos was definitely best at it, though I do remember the joy I felt when I was allowed to DJ occasionally.

Depending on how far back you're talking, I always remember political threads. The difference was, they were actual debate threads instead of a few people posting links to blog sites every 5 minutes.

in the 04 election political threads were banned and were closed whenever someone made one

I remember in my first couple of months here staying up all night on the forum. I guess none of us had a life then, because you'd literally hit refresh and there would three or four replies in one thread. The paint threads were the best, some real funny stuff got posted.

I also remember the failed "POST HOT GIRL" threads that were always locked within the first 5 pages, no exceptions. We got one of those at least once ever couple of months.

And there were lots of political threads that went on for 5-10 pages. The problem is that over time we've all gotten older and kind of molded into basically the same political ideology (OMG HIVEMIND), so it's pretty much down to just the entire forum VS FE.

Back in the day I remember all of us arguing from twelve different viewpoints. The best was when Peter / Susan / Bruce joined in, that would drag a thread out for days. Nowadays it's kind of like preaching to the choir. I'm not a hardcore conservative right wing nutjob anymore, and the same can be said for the hxc liberals. So you post a thread, there's nobody to argue with.

Plus, we don't get near as many new people any more. i can remember when Frog Man, Rofl, etc joined. I don't even know who the newest forumer is (in T&O anyway) now.

It's kind of funny, if you chronicled the forum you'd go from nonstop bickering and arguing / shock humor, to dating and drinking, to graduations, to life troubles, and now to everybody just kind of settling down into their lives. Next-FORUM FUNERALS. WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE.

Yeah, PBC'ers probably no more of the stranger details about me than my actual friends. It's a lot easier being awkwardly open with people you'll never really meet.

This is a good point. There are only a few new regulars, but not like it used to be. And what happened to the actual paintball end of this site? Even IT used to be more lively. Nowadays even I don't feel like helping because it's the same old searchable crap, over and over again. What happened to all the crazy custom Tippies in the gallery?

Wait, didn't they sell the Hellhound? For scrap IIRC, but it was sold.
They now make a pistol.
They made a new SL-68. (well re launched the old one)

Now what?

Hellhound was sold to Hell Survivors, then Dave sold it again.

The old forum was more fun and active. Political threads have been the norm since old blue, then new version forum, no real surprisees. The Bush era was fun, the Obama era is just getting boring same ole, same ole.

Too many have moved on, the old crew no longer plays, and a few still use the forum as a social network. TWC was the annual get together/reunion. Tippmann actually supported in a very limited way, the OMHW, and the A-5 fiasco changed all that. If you do not know what happened don't ask, way too idiotic.

Thw Wayne Dollack games/fiascos, a few other promoters of very limited credibility, the MMG and TWC kinda a mecca.

The forum as well as the game has transitioned and depending on view the direction was either good or bad.

Oh and I still remmember playing at the World Cup at Survival New York, Jerry was a great guy, and amatuers could actually compete in major tourneys, all before the combat pajama/blow up doll era came to vogue. And field profit overwhealmed actual player fun.

Most message boards seem to have dwindling numbers between Facebook and other forms of social is. It was a lot more fun here when there were more active users. But I am certainly guilty as well, I don't have as much time to post anymore.

OS, I hate you for doing that. Even though I dont know what the "A5 fiasco" is, you would have been cut in 2006 anyway.

I miss the yearly christmas/yearbook threads. There hasn't been a yearbook in a few years and I had to bail out Christmas.

Through some hard drive changes I've lost my yearbook, but those were some fun days.

Spooky? Holy hell. I haven't seen you in the better part of a decade, and in internet years that's a lifetime.

I've been in my house for six years and before that we had the loft, and it was at the loft that I'd sometimes sit on the forum through the night. This was a place you could really hang out because it was so active. It's good to be back.

Social networking sites have taken a big bite out of forums everywhere, combine that with the fact that so many of us have graduated college, started families, and quit playing almost entirely, and well, numbers dwindle. Shorty could only ever find the time to get on while at work, and the NMRC blocks mother, so that's why he isn't seen so much anymore. The reason you don't see a bunch of bright-eyed kids on here is two fold. A) The economy sucks and paintball always takes a hit when the economy sucks and B) We have a very bad habit of running off newcomers.

Well, that, and I blame FEaperpulse.

I can recall the days back when I could easily average 50 detailed posts everyday. I dont even think I posted 50 times in the last two months.

Also the only moderating done anymore is lock spam thread and a ban spambots.

Its has also been over two or three years since I have gotten a PM, I used to have to empty my box daily.

I remember being excessively active. I think I had a post count of around 20 for a long time. If you're not Chewp, that's quite the sum...

What am I at now?

TEST!

Edit: 5.40 posts per day. Hm. I HAVE slowed down...
